What's the point of multi millionaires wanting more money? What's the point if you have what you need?
At the point that you can afford any house available in the country, a driver, fancy dinners every night by a chef, all the shopping you want, etc., why would you bother to make more?

Wouldn't you be depressed if you had so much? Like what are you supposed to do with it all in the bank, with your money making money off of itself? I think I would be sad.

Since I am a millionaire myself, I can tell you that I am not like that. This is how I conceal my wealth: I work a regular full-time job plus about 15-20 hours per week overtime (I don't want my neighbors wondering how my husband and I can afford to stay home all the time nor do I want my friends/family to know that I have any money so I have to pretend that I am broke and need to work myself half to death). I have mortgage/car/credit card/student loan/consumer loan debts (My other multi-millionaire friends got tired of banks begging them to open $10,000,000 credit lines so they suggested I keep 99.9% of my money in cash, under my mattress and just keep a 'regular' checking account. If the bank sees that I owe $4000/month in bills and earn $5000/month from my 'regular person' job, they tend to leave me alone since they figure that I can't afford to ALSO pay on a $10,000,000 loan. Oh, and paying the bank a few NSF's a month helps me keep my cover.) I eat Ramen noodles and Kraft mac-n-cheese most of the time (I actually have a full-time, world-class chef but I am a nice boss and send them a paycheck each month but I don't ask them to do any work. See, aren't I the best boss in the world?). So, my friend, this just goes to show you that not ALL of us multi-millionaires try to show off our wealth to the world.

Why do you care how much money other people want. You actually sound jealous. Hey, if somebody works hard enough or has a good enough idea or product that they can sell and make millions of dollars, why should any of us care. As a matter of fact, rich people are good for you. The top 10% of the people in this country pay about 95% of the income taxes which support many of the programs and benefits I'm sure you have no guilt taking advantage of. If they were lazy and didn't work so hard and did not pay so much in taxes, a lot of those benefits would not be available.

MOST people that actually EARNED multiple millions DON'T want more. They made the money doing what the LOVE. They also LOVE giving money away. That said, money DOES NOT change who you are. If you are a jerk without money, you will be a jerk if you have money. If you are generous without money, you will be generous with money.

I guess it's not about money for money's sake, it's about doing what they are good at, and and having fun, and seeing the results, and being successful. Besides, you get used to some level of quality of life, and you don't want to downgrade.

As for being sad, I knew some very very rich people, and from what I've seen, sometimes money damage their personality, yes. Especially when they are not the ones who built the fortune, but the heirs. It may be hard for some of them to lead a meaningful life when there is nothing that they really need to do to live comfortably. The most unhappy person I've ever seen in my life was an extremely handsome heir to a multimillion fortune. He was a very decend guy, but his life was sort of a nightmare from my point of view. Depends on upbringing, probably.

Most people want more than they need. All you really need is food and clothing. How many people do you know who would be happy with a shirt, pants, and food, and nothing more.

For many it's more satisfying to work when you don't need to.

I know what I would do. I would give it to my friend's daughter, Julie, 21, who on June 6/05 was t-boned and has been living with a brain injury since.
Her Julie's one desire is to have her own hydrotherapy pool in her house so she can practice whenever she wants. It's Julie's happiest times in the water.
My friend's daughter is eating and talking now.
She has great will power, determination, she just needs this pool to relearn how to walk again.

I guess it depends. some people love the fact that they can brag about what they can buy and think they are better than others. Some people have money and think nothing of it, I know both types. My guess would be that either they don't want to know any other lifestyle and keep pushing or greed just takes over. You would think that once you get to that point you would stop to enjoy your success, but on the flip side, if you stop you get beat. I really don't know

Greed, and lust for power and influence.

Money represents a path to that. A rich person usually has a train of followers who cater to his or her every whim. That's power & influence.

Those who can throw off the yoke of greed and lust of power are indeed wealthy, just not in worldly terms.

Bushan
"more" is relative term. How can you say in absolute terms what is is enough. Someones "wants" are some other persons "needs"

In spirituality terms, it is all driven by past samskaras(baggage your Soul carries from previous incarination) and unless we remove that bagage the TRUTH is relative to each person

The current governor of California agrees with you.

Greed and the lust for power and influence.

As not many of the so called millionaires are down to earth types and many walk around like they are better then everyone else simply because they have money.
