if you are one of the parties involved and financial advantage is your main concern then you should end the relationship. |

Maybe not financially but definitely emotionally and physically.
They will have another partner someone to help take care of themselves and it is proven that men live longer when they have a spouse. |

Only do this if you enjoy each other's company. The financial advantages are minimal.....joint tax? |

Of course it is better. You will have a larger budget
live in the same house, share the household chores,
eat the same food which all leads to more economy
overall. Bust most of all, you will share each other‘s
good company, go for holidays together, watch TV
together etc... Go for it, I would not waste any time.
Good luck to both, may your partnership lead to a
better and happier life. Cheers, Iain |

Marriage couples allowance only applies to 65+. depending on your husband to be income his tax bill could be reduced or if your income is more, you can elect to have all or part of it allocated to you. best bet is speak to a professional. It all depends on your financial circumstances. |

I don't know about financial advantage, but if i were the female in this proposed union i would think carefully before giving up my independence at this age. Of course it all depends on the type of man she is marrying, but a lot of men at that age, having retired, will do very little except sit around and expect to be waited on by the little woman! Men of that generation may not think it is their place to have to do household chores etc. The whole thing should be approached with caution. And i'm not an embittered old bat..... i'm approx 50 and have been married 3 times! |

If you are considering only the financial advantage, and do not love the other person, I would advise against it. As my great-grandmother used to say: "Marriage is hard enough when you love the other person; it is definitely hell if you don't!" |
