Get small to medium companies (pizza places, groceries, beverage companies, etc.) to sponsor your prom (in cash or in kind) in exchange for some banners or any kind of advertisement you can think of before, during, or after the prom itself..
This is minimal cost for them, you just need to be creative in your advertisement ideas so they will say yes..

get old stuff no one uses anymore, and have a yard-sale, make sure you say when advertising its for fundraising, have a car wash.. have a tip jar!! Just whatever you do, make sure the people coming/participating know its a fundraiser, they for some reason give more! (Esp. in a tip jar) |

At my school, we bought candy from a wholesale club and sold it to the entire school throughout the school. This helped to fund it.
We also hosted Friday Pizza Days every Friday.
A few mornings a week, we also sold fruit and breakfast foods.
We earned plenty of money through these two sales to fund our end of the year banquet (equivalent to a prom). |

You could fundraise. You could either make your own stuff (cookies, scarves, blankets) or you could somehow get the stuff from one of those fundraising companies. I've seen Sally Foster, Cherrydale and Jump Rope for Heart around here. |

our school is so small so we like at our cross country meets or basketball games we sell goddies and make alot of money especially at our cross country meet people are there all day. when we sell goodies we ask parents to donate it. |
