What are the best ways to get by for weeks when there's no money?

You've got to get a handle on your priorities. Obviously you need to get some food. I mean groceries, and cheap ones at that. Hopefully you have at least enough money to do that. If not I hope someone will be kind enough to help you. You should probably consider selling anything you can to at least buy food. Same goes with utilities and rent.

eat lots of white rice and ramen noodles. (they are both cheap) and read anything you can get your hands on. Walk to the library if you can. They will let you hang out all day and just read.

You'll be surprised at how much smarter you come away after the couple of weeks is over.

Make some money.

Why be so broke?

Sign up with a temp agency. Many of them are very flexible. And if you are reliable and show up to your job assignments on time they will work with you.

Find ways to make a meal out of very little

Check your local food pantry's

As far as help with bills. Contact your local utility company and see if they have an "energy assistance program" This is usually only for gas and lights.

Any firends that owe you a meal? You could mooch a few from them.

Check out Salvation Army, St Vincent De Paul and other charitable organisations for food parcels/emergency relief. They can also usually tell you where the free meal services are. Social Security offices may also help.

Hare Krisna's usually have weekly open feasts where people can come and eat for free... you usually just have to sit through a sermon.

If you have some money, check out the supermarkets near closing time. They often have specials on preishables such as roast chickens for half price or less. Bread is also usually cheap. Check out the dairy section for reduced price cheese, yoghurt etc.

Often in the backs of supermarkets they have bins filled with food that is fine to eat, just past it's sell-by date.. a frequently used term is "dumpster diving".

Dhal (indian lentil curry) and rice is a very cheap and nutritious meal.

For bills you can ring up and ask for an extention until the money is due - that buys you more time than just ignoring it and hopeing they'll go away. Sometimes the food charities can also help with bills etc, but this is increasingly rare.

Entertain yourself for free by playing board or card games with friends, visiting people, going for walks in parks or gardens, going to the library, museum, art gallery etc.

Depending on where you are living, there are "street papers" in a lot of major cities where homeless or unemployed people can sell them and make half the cover price... The International Network of Street Papers has publications in 28 countries - see link below.

well you can go to the walmart deli and get a good meal for under 2 dollars, carpool with friends instead of driving your car, stuff like that

Doc Manhattan
cut all unnecessary expenses, find free recreation activities (reading, hanging out w/ friends, sports (minus the gym), etc.), eat lots of rice

Clip coupons
take the bus or walk
eat one less meal per day
if you smoke or drink alcohol quit, they are very costly
don't use your credit card, pay only using cash
use cold water for everything, hot water costs money to heat
cancel your cell phone (if you have one)
cancel your Internet (but then you could not surf the net)
grow a garden and eat what you plant
lower your thermostat five degrees
in the summer keep your blinds closed and in the winter keep them open

Use your savings.
That's what it's there for.
Too many peole don't save and then when times get tough expect everyone else to bail them out.
How sad.

Without money you can not get by easily for weeks.
You can consider earn money online.
I found a website that you can earn money online.
http://www.spedia.net/cgi-bin/tz.cgi?run=show_svc&fl=8&vid=4050578
You can earn money online via spedia bar as soon as you connect to the internet.
You can sign up offers to earn money. At some times you can earn up to
150 dollars in just one hour.
You can also earn money by playing games on the website.
Finally hope you good luck!
