i ordered broadband internet from bulldog and paid £99 connection fee. they said i could get this back if i decided to cancell the order within 7 days. i cancelled the order within 3 days. they have confirmed the cancellation and admitted that i will get a refund. the problem now is its been 6weeks now and i still haven't got my money back. they keep on giving me different dates of when they will put the money back in my account.
i'm really fed up and i want action.please help |

Unfortunately all you can do is wait. Be patient and you'll see your money soon. Call them every other week and ask. |

Continue calling them. Be firm and polite. If you can't get anywhere with a customer service rep, ask to speak to a supervisor.
I had to do this with my insurance company. I had called my rep. multiple times and never received a call back. The next time I called, I asked for a supervisor right away. When asked why, I told them I wanted to place a complaint. I got to speak to a supervisor right away. He wrote me a cheque and I received it the next day.
Be perserverant. The more you call, the faster they will want to get rid of you! Therefore, you should get something sooner rather then later. Especially since it's really not that difficult for them to write you a cheque, or even to simply put the money back into your bank account. |

If you have a solicitior get in touch with them. Advise Bulldog that if you do not receive your refund within a specified time frame you will seek leagal advise. I'm Irish so I'm not sure what consumer orginisations you have over there but get in touch with one of them and report them. They'll pay up quick enough!! |

Bulldog were recenlt taken over by cables and wireless or ntl (can't remeber which). They are having loads of issues with customer services at the mo. Keep ringing the customer service line. |

Depends what type of company bulldog are - write to the paper about it, send a Solicitors letter, ring up constantly over and over again until they get really sick of you. Generally hassle people, they don't help unless you put them under pressure |

Not a big credit card person, but in situation like this I would have put it on my card. This is the problem you face when it comes out of your checking. At least with a credit card you have some kind of protection, when you pay in cash you have to wait. |

Write to them. Be sure to quote references etc. Give them a reasonable period to re-pay money.
If no joy - Small claims court.

just be firm with them and dont be lied to on the telephone, get a definate answer and question anything your unsure of. |

Shopping from home rights
When shopping from home you additionally have the right to:
* clear information before placing an order
* written information about a purchase
* a 'cooling off' period during which an order can be cancelled without any reason and a full refund made
* a full refund if goods or services are not provided by an agreed date or within 30 days of placing an order if no date was agreed
* protection against credit card fraud.
so it would appear they have to give you a refund in 30 days.
