Take it to a bank (as long as you have both pieces) they'll exchange it and then transfer the money to the federal bank that deals with currency that's taken out of circulation.

If by some chance the won't exchange it, the Bureau of Engraving and Printing (BEP), through its Office of Currency Standards, processes all reimbursement for damaged United States currency. They decide the redemption value of torn or otherwise unfit currency by measuring the portions of the notes submitted. Generally, they reimburse the full face value if clearly more than one-half of the original note remains. Currency fragments measuring less than one-half are not redeemable.

1. You can tape it back together and take it to the bank to let them replace it.

2. Spend it, after you have taped it back together.

I have read that u can get full value of a torn bill from the Bureau of Engraving and Prtinging in Washington, DC- as long as you turn in at least 51% of the ripped one.

i am assuming that you could bring it into your local bank ( i would prob go to the bank you have an account with, they seem so much happier to help you if you are their customer).

As long as you have more than half it is still legal tender. Just tape it back together. You can trade it in at a bank for some crisp new bills.

take the pieces to the bank and get a new one.

osuguy2
sounds corny, but tape it and use it
or take both halves to a bank, they'll exchange it for a new one

If you still have all the pieces of the bill, you could try to go to your bank and have it replaced. Banks replace old and damaged bills.

ceprn
tape it together, take it to the bank and exchange it... or just spend it

Coco
You can give it to me and I'll find something to do with it!! J/K. Just tape it it's still usable anywhere you go.
