If I were given $13,000 today, I would do the following:
1. Pay off my LAST non-mortgage debt.
2. Put 6 months worth of expenses in a money market mutual fund as insurance for emergencies.
3. My car needs some work done.
4. If anything is left, my food budget could use an upgrade. |

find a good bank and or a financial advisor and invest the money..or @ least part of it .
let your money work for you and let it grow..so u can use it in the future..
meanwhile take 3,000 and get a beater car or go shopping in paris and milan...treat family to presents... |

Why this desire to blow $13,000? It seems like anytime anybody comes into money, they have this deep seated need to spend it. If you don't know what to spend it on, why not put it in the bank or invest it for a time you may really need it? |
