Our current deal has ended through Northern Rock, We where going to re-new our mortgage through them but now I dont know! we havre tried sending infomation to them 6 times they still dont revice it or lose it or need more info. Its really upsetting and stressful. does anyone have a recomondations? we wanted to get some extra capitial as well on top to reduce our outgoings each month.

For twelve years now we have had mortgages arranged for us through a local independent mortgage adviser )look in Yellow pages, or if you are in Yorkshire I'd be more than happy to recommend ours! He has found the best product for us in differing situations from self build to totally stony broke with two under twos. Because they are independent they get all the mortgage products from every building soc and bank in UK even the tiny ones who only lend to folk living within X miles. The computer programme our guy uses ranks each product from best fit to not so good depending on which factors are most important to you. EG zero legal costs, low payment starts, over payments if you have a job which pays you a bonus(ha ha ha I wish).etc.
But if that's the best NR can do for you now then they don't deserve your loyalty. Vote with your wallet and take your debt elsewhere!
Good luck, believe it or not it does get easier. Although I still haven't had a Mediterranean hol since taking on a mortgage. My priority has always been my own bricks and mortar. |

There are so many variables here that you cannot realistically get a decent answer.
You need to specicy mortgag e amounts, (lower interest rate may not count for much if the loan amount is small but the fees are higher), term of mortgage, what type of rate you want, whether fixed or tracker etc, what your crdit rating is like and whether your income is provable.
Northern Rock may be a little incopetent at times, but believe you me, the Woolwich would make them look damn good by comparison!
I am an Independent Mortgage broker, so of course my advise would be to speak to me or someone like me.
There is generally no charge for a consultation.

well i remortgaged with the woolwich at the beginning of this year and have had no complaints about them. make sure you get a good rate if you can fixed because of the direction that the interest rates seem to be headed |

really helpful!! Search all the different lenders using your unique circumstances.
The only I would say is also look at any additional fees - especially upfront fees. Northern Rock usually have a very high upfront fee - I would steer clear of Northern Rock.
