Save it! Once you make about $500, then spend half! Learn to save now, so you won't get in debt later! I would also save because there are a lot of neat phones you can get for about $250. Blackberry, iPhone...whatever..also, be sure you don't have to pay for the phone bill... if you do, you'll need money per month! Plan ahead, save now, spend later! Good luck... |

When each of my kids turned 12, I opened up a
CUSTODIAL SAVINGS ACCOUNT
They received an ATM card (debit also, since I was a member of the bank).
Their account is linked to my checking so I can make despoits into their accounts. If you need money your mom can transfer from your account to hers and give you cash.

$130 won't go far these days and almost anything you'll buy with it will have lost it's lustre in a year. That's the way to think about it - what will still be worth something to you next Christmas?
If you can't make up your mind, put the money in the bank while you think about it. If your bank offers short term CDs (like 30 days), you'll collect a little interest while you're pondering what to do.
Actually, 15 isn't too young to work. Most states will let you start holding down a job at 14 though there are restrictions about when and how many hours. Good for you for wanting to generate your own income!
Consider this, too: the way to have a good career is by going to college. The way to get the most out of college is if you save up at least some part of the money it takes to pay for it. (You'll work harder if it's your savings rather than somebody just giving it to you). So having a job that lets you save up several thousand dollars for school would be very smart. |

Save, save, save. Unless your parents have already saved up $250,000 (the average spending for 4 years of college - tuition, room & board, travel to school, ad infinitum), you are going to need a very great deal of money very soon.
At 15, you should be earning some money even if you are not old enough to get a work permit in your state. You need to learn "the ways of the working world," reliability, dependability, responsibility, and a whole lot more. You need to learn financial management -- THE most important skill to your future success and security. And you are going to need references to find a job, even a summer job, once you are old enough. It's a good time to start babysitting, dogwalking, snow shoveling, whatever. And put that money away! |

we need to know the phone situation, you cant buy a good phone for 130 unless you have an upgrade, then there are several. if you have an upgrade or are starting a new line of service that someone is going to pay for the bill all you have to do is pay for the phone, go with the phone, get a phone with a good camera that you can use untill you get a job and can afford a nice digital camera

The best thing to do is save it since the price of everything is going to continue to go down. However between the 2 at your age a nice Camera would be more useful I think. Phone's come and go no reason to spend you $130 on something that will be out of style in a year. |

Theres so many things you can do with it.
Here are a few choices.
1. Donate
2. Make a list of things you NEED and but it.
3. Get the camera if you love to take pictures
4. Get the phone if you really need it.
P.S. you are not too young to get a job. You can work at Publix or Winn Dixie.

In my opinion, you should buy a phone. Maybe the new Sidekick. It cost $99.99 at T-Mobile.com with 2-year contract. But at Wal-Mart it is free with a 2-year contract. The Wal-Mart one comes with extra free accessories. The phones are the same thing. It comes with a 2 megapixel camera, media player, real web-browsing, and tons of messaging. I do consider you to get the babysitting job, to pay the phone bill. Unless your parents, or someone, is willing to pay for the bill. Both offers end tommorow and will be alot more expensive. |

If i were you I would save it until you're 16. Then get a job and save your money from the job for about 2 or 3 months and you'll be able to afford a camera and a cell phone at the same time. Getting them both with the money you saved and earned will be a greater reward than getting them now and having no money. |
