What do all these kids need so much money for?
Everyday i come on here and see some kid 13 or younger asking how they can make hundreds of dollars fast. When i was a kid, i was only trying to figure out how to get an extra 15 dollars for the latest transformer or whatever. If something cost over 50, i would ask for it for Christmas/birthday, but never did i ever feel the need to blow several hundred dollars on whatever my 11 year old heart wanted at the time. So what are these kids buying? Drugs?

Generally we spend our money buying things like computers($500+) iPods (200+) and the newest bits of technology to impress our friends. The number of kids using drugs is dropping.

zephyr
us kids need all the money because greedy companies like microsoft and sony overprce videogames and the like

iPods, video games, video game systems, cellphones (if their parents either won't get them one, or if their parents monitor the cellphones they give them). Clothes, if the parents aren't buying enough to keep up with the fashions of the minute.

Nowadays, things are so expensive.
They want to make as much money as possible and save up for things..
There are also many things that they have that kids want.
Ipods, computers, laptops, movies, mall... the list can go on forever.

Or people just want the pleasure of having money, and telling people that they have alot of money.

Good question! They seem to want a quick buck but none of them want to work for it like we did ... mowing lawns ... or some other actual work !

Kids now have zero understanding of the value of money nowdays. It is the parents fault.

Well, look at the economy for one. I mean, everything is more expensive for us adults so it's bound to be expensive for kids too.

Yeah, they may be looking to buy drugs or whatever. But more likely it's to buy some new clothes or concert tickets or something. Kids are more independent and self-sufficient these days than they've ever been. I got my first job at 14 years old and I've had to pay for EVERYTHING myself since. I even had to pay rent and buy groceries. So it's hard telling why these kids need money. It just depends on the kid I guess.

I think they are buying gas. But also, I think that TV has something to do with it. They see these celebs driving nice cars and parading their money in their face so they think "if I have that money I will be cool" That just made me sound really old. :(

probably. or guns

I doubt it is drugs. Things are a lot different now a days. Kids have a lot more to do then we did when we were kids. Video games, cell phone, the latest gaggit. They are all expensive. Roller blades, skate boards, you name it. I have 2 sons who are 8 and 9 and it seems like most toys now a days are at least 50$ .

if theyre around 15, theyre deffinetly doing drugs
if theyre 12 or 13 its cause theyre greedy and want alot of video games and pricey clothes

The priorities of our society are very disoriented. We all, parents and children, teachers, TV, evangelists, every one is locked into the pursuit of pleasure. We are unable to accept a life with any suffering. Yet suffering is part of life whether we want it or not.

lol well with all the advertising and peer presurre kidz get these days im not suprised that they try get it themselves. Kids these days feel the need to fit in and unfortuantlty toys n clothes seem to be how u fit in at schools. xx

SugaHoneyIceMe
A lot of FATHERS are not in the home today and KIDS are forced to grow up fast. Also KIDS are not STUPID these days they understand that a video game can cost $20 on up. Anit no such thing as penny candy no more everything .89 cents or more. Sodas $2 on avg. They are SMARTER TODAY

Kids now 13 and older do not understand the value of money. Plus you are probably right when you said they are spending money on drugs. SAD but true!!
