I'm slightly past 40, and I spend alot of my money on my house - the mortgage, the maid service, the lawn service, property tax, maintenance costs, new appliances, landscaping, etc. I also help out my parents who are in their 70's, so alot of my money goes there.

Hello, bills!

what
I am 55. I spend almost 79% of my income on my home mortgage (including a lot of extra principle) and my retirement savings.

I ask myself the same thing. Most adults 40-60 still have teenagers or young adults still at home. I don't know about anyone else, but it costs alot to feed and dress them. Even though they work, they are struggling and we, as responsible parents help them out.

Stocks, education for their children. Pay off house and debt. Maybe a new car...furniture.
