If I am a vagrant of no fixed abode, it would be the man who has a shelter and an income.
If I am the Sultan of Brunei, then it would be $90 billion (Bill Gates)
For me, there are so many millionaires now that we need to have another category for 'rich' - perhaps deci-millionaires or even centi-millionaires. The billionaire club is still pretty exclusive and so we need a wider group of people to identify as 'rich'. There are too many millionaires (some simply by owning a house in London or other major cities) to class them all as rich, and in a sense, too few billionaires.
But when all is said and done, anyone who has enough personal resources that they never have to work should they choose not to, and yet they can still order the lives of others and have those others do their bidding, for me, *that's* rich. |

i think it depends on the lifestyle you are living as to how much money one would consider rich....myself i think to be honestly safe and never worry about anything or work to vac and to enjoy life it would take at least 10 + million to be rich because there is so many wasters that unless they managed it correctly rich would turn to poor again fast ,,,myself i would be to scared of that happening to me i would be a miser and stay rich with that amount. |

Rich? I suppose if you can afford many of your wants, all the time, you are rich enough, yeah? A million dollars really isn't that much money anymore...unless you know how to invest it wisely. I would say a few million and up would be considered very wealthy. |

I believe the US Census determines a that a person is wealthy if their annual income is 10x the level of poverty for a family of 4. Approximately $250,000 per year. Then again wealthy and rich could be seen as two different concepts. |

You may consider yourself rich if you're making 40k/year and everybody else around you is making 20k/year. Then you would consider yourself poor if you're making 40k/year and everybody else around is making 80k/year. It's all relative. Compare to most of the world, that same 40k/year would be living like a king. |
