Yes, photo ID, and 2 proofs of address. If you are having a student account you will need a college acceptance letter too.

You need 2 forms of ID unless it is a full Passport (according to my local branch), one of them must be photo ID so if you don't have a passport a birth certificate then something like a PROVEIT! card should be OK.
You also need something that has proof of where you live on it, preferably from some sort of official body, with adults its usually water/electric bills that sort of thing, but I'm jnot sure what you may have at 16, perhaps letters from school/exam boards or something like that?

Although because you are 16 I expect the bank would understand if you found it hard to have something like a water bill etc, so maybe take your parent with you and get them to take something to verify the address.

I opened up an account when I was 16 and all they needed from me was an I.D. (like a student I.D.) and social security card. Also you should bring some money because usually, not always, you need to keep a minimum amount in your account. Just to be safe I would also bring some mail for proof of your residency and a parent or guardian. Good luck

I would suggest taking some form of ID whether it be a birth certificate, passport, driver's training permit, etc. I'm not sure what kinds of new rules there are, but some banks require minimum amounts in order to open the account so you'll want to call ahead before opening the account.

kemzie
you had better be legal!

If you are under 18, you need a parent to go with you. You also need an ID and a minimum amount of money, most banks require $50
