bumberclarte | What do you predict will happen to intrest rates over the next 6 months? |

I think they will go higher, are economy is pretty strong and the interest rate has been pretty low for awhile. Inflation would have to be cracked down upon eventually. |

Not a whole lot. The feds are concerned about the housing slump so have been holding off on increases.
Anything in a 6 month period wont be substantial so dont freak out over it. |

if you are talking bank base rate, it will go up in April/may to 5..50% and come down to 5% by Christmas.
well that is what all the annalists are saying! |

I think they will remain steady to and possibly go up slightly..We may not see interest rates this low for a long, long time..ss |

They will go up, they will go down. But not necessarily in that order. |

The current thinking is that they will go up during the year, and may fall towards the end. That is based upon current economic conditions, which can vary without warning. During 2001, interest rates were expected to keep rising until September 11th - which lead to a sudden 0.5% decrease in the UK base rate. |

rise by at least another .25 - probably higher. |

Nothing, they will stay the same. |

I suspect that they'll go higher. Just a hunch! |

float wildly with no real direction.....or here is a theory:
6 out of the last 7 times we have seen an inverted yield curve (which we now have) it has led to a recession in the economy quite soon. That would make rates go down....but we'll see if it rings true this time. |
