Report it to ofcom (http://www.ofcom.org.uk/).
What typically happens is that the number you dial to return the call is premium rate and you end up in a queue at £1.50 per min. |

If you knew it was a scam why did you do it twice? |

Call your local telephone company and give them the phone number. You are right that it is a scam. It is even as far as Australia. Once you reply to them via text message or call them they can then use your phone number to make calls and you get the charges. |

Why would you call it back in the first place???? |

There's a 1-800 # for a "Do Not Call List" You can find it online. That's the best way to AVOID it. Don't know how to report it though. |

There is a regulatory body for premium rate numbers. Find them here http://www.icstis.org.uk/.
I'd hate to see what you got billed for those calls. |

Your phone company has a fraud division that you could talk to - give them the information. Also, ask your phone company if any unauthorized phone calls were recently placed on your account. It seems to me that if you did not give out any other personal info then all they could get from you is your phone number. Good luck. |

Hi Camilla this really depends if the measage was left on your mobile or home phone. You need to know how they obtained your number in the first place. Please contact your phone line supplier for advice. They all have investigation departments. If land line ..BT if in UK.. they have OFCOM/TEL who can get the number you phoned closed down. Good luck x |
