What happens when you deposit large amounts of money in your bank account?

Leo Lion
Any large cash deposit ( sometimes five grand, more common ten grand) is reported to the Federal Reserve examiners.

Should a bank fail to report it, the bank faces being fined.

The purpose is to expose money laundering which is usually what drug traffic creates.

Many drug dealers prefer smaller cash deposits so as to try and conceal themselves.

Many banks turn a blind eye toward the illegal practices which is crippling our society.

Banks tend to promote taking in money before scrutinizing what the source is.

Many fraudulent enterprises still thrive due to lax banking practices.

The IRS starts scheduling your audit.

They make you wait, tell you it is getting "processed", and meanwhile get rich on the interest from the float while they do the same thing to everyone else.

If you owe money on a school loan or taxes they come and take your money to pay for them. I know this because they just got a friend of mine. I hate banks too!!!

?
They put a stupid, stinking HOLD on it, supposedly to "verify funds"...even when it is cash. *rolls eyes*
I hate banks.

They use your money and lend it to others.

depending on the normal balances that are kept in the accounts, the bank may place a hold to verify the monies, as there's a lot of fraud going around. I would check with your local financial institution as to what their policies and procedures are.

The “Unusual Behaviour” button is pressed: Tax Authorities, Money Laundry Peoples, Anti-terrorist Organizations, etc. Don’t worry; you’ll be in good hands … and if you pass the test, you might get an invitation from your bank for a pre-approved loan.

The bank fills out a form and sends it to the IRS, it's the law.

Your deposit will grow and the bank in turn will lend your money to the public and earn interest.

lezgettiton
any transaction whether it be withdraw or deposit totalling over $10,000 must be reported to the IRS.

Alexi
You get a lot of interest...
