joezen777 | What have you done for money when you've been completely broke? |
I cashed in the 777 lottery ticket I bought on my birthday. And was excited to get the seven dollars prize money! I think I'll start selling gadgets on ebay too. |

This question brings back memories for me!
1. Sold plasma.
2. Offered to clean out other people's cabinets (they always have food they don't need or want).
3. Eaten free food offered by the Krishnas.
4. Got rid of my car and rode a bike.
5. Did my laundry by hand.
6. Sold all kinds of things -- on ebay and elsewhere. Tell people you are having a rummage sale and they will give you their junk.
7. Had second and third jobs.
8. No television or cable.
9. Bought my clothes at Goodwill or another charity that sold bags of clothes for $2.
10. Had no telephone for a while.
11. Had a garden, grew my own food.
12. Mooched, when appropriate. I told my friends I was broke and occasionally I would let them buy me a drink or dinner or take me out. In exchange, I helped them through times of crisis in other ways.
13. I did not buy lottery tickets, soft drinks, alcohol, cigarettes, or anything frivolous. It was more important to eat!
14. Know your priorities. I paid my way through school. I knew I was not going to starve, so I paid for my textbooks before I paid for food. Sometimes, you just have to have faith!
Good luck. It is a character building experience and you can impress at future job interviews. Everyone likes to know their $150K management candidate knows how to be frugal! |

...search the house, coat and pants pockets and car for loose change...most importantly, ask God to help |

Stick it out and live on the grace of GOD. He can produce miracles, he has for me so many times. I am ever so grateul cause sometimes I'm in the state of a situation where i am so scared about how i will get by. Have faith. And believe. I dunno how i make day to day. But i cast my cares upon the lord day to day and my needs are met ironically without the means of charity. I make it. I save a lil here a lil there and do odd jobs for friends for cash. It never seems that it will be quite enough even down to the penny but it i make every cent work. Go figure??? The lord is awsome!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! |

When I was a single mom, I was so desperate I sold my blood to a research facility. Totally crazy but I had to do what I had to do to get by. |

Hey, that's pretty good! Let's seee....what have *I* done? Ah, yes. I leave everything in it's original packaging, unopened, until I'm actually going to use it. I also keep the receipt b/c you never know when you may have to return the item so that you can buy Ramen Noodles (10 for $10!) Craig knows me very well on his List, and after taking a pic and posting my item, I have cash right away. I figure I have too much stuff ANYway, and there's nothing wrong with spartan living. |

Denis - you'd be lucky to get $3-4 per cd selling used cd's - you won't get $8, unless the buyers are complete morons |

We have sold things in yard sales. Did a few odd jobs, like mowing lawns, shoveling snow, and picked up beer and soda bottles on the side of the road. Nickles add up. |

Sell Blood....SAVE LIVES
One way to make quick cash is to donate plasma. It is like donating whole blood, but the red blood cells are seperated from the plasma and reinfused. If you meet the criteria, you can donate twice a week ( 7 day period ) every week. I do not know the current rate but it may be approx. $30. $30 x 8 donations per month = $240 per month.
Also, lives will be saved. Plasma is seperated into platelets and numerous clotting factors to treat bleeding disorders and excessive blood loss due to trauma or surgery. |

I've always wanted to walk dogs on the side, just never got a chance to really do it. Think about it, if you get paid $10 per walk, twice a day, that's $20 for one dog. If you walk 5 dogs a day, you're looking at $500 a week! And I've seen people walking 10-12 dogs at a time, so they're probably making the same as someone in an office job, and their job is that much more fun.
Of course, it would be a problem if you don't like dogs....
But for me, that would be the best option, if I were broke and didn't have a day job. |

Yeah, I'd say if you are really strapped for cash, then maybe sell some of your stuff on e-bay. I usually dive headfirst into my bucket-o-change and head straight for one of those coin-cash machines at Albertsons. |
