What income would consider you low income?

Additional Details
Because in my household we make about 80,000 a year combine more or less, and were still struggling to make it.

you live in a very high cost of living area- I live in Iowa and that would be considered upper middle class income and you could easily afford a nice house and decent vehicles, vacations, etc....maybe you should move or get a new job

C. Donahue
Depends on where you live. You could live great on $20 a year in western Kansas, however in NY/LA, you would be floating the creek. It's all relative to how you want to live as well... if you want to drive a Lincoln Navigator and live in a huge house $20K is very low income. If you can stand a used pick-up and a trailer you'd be OK.... get me?

for a single person, I would say under $30,000.

I live in the Bay Area too and no doubt that it is too expensive out here to live comfortable. Cost of living is way too expensive too. I would say an indiviual making under $40,000 is considered low income because I am single myself and am barely making it by with just rent and bills alone.

queenofkings2525
$15,000-$23,000 for individual

Kitty
$20,000 and under.

Even then though I would be able to save something... I am a natural born hoarder and can squeeze a nickle so hard the buffalo will poop !!

We all get to make choices every day on where our money goes. YOU can make a change and find money to invest which in turn will make you more money.

curlz0516
for an individual? maybe anything under 20?

Depends on where you live. Overall, I'd say about $15,000 for an individual.

depends on where you live, and how you live. If you like living large you are gonna need more money. I think the state or federal government has a definition of low income depending on location and age and number of family members. My parents never made more than 20 thousand a year, but we owned everything we had and didnt owe money to anyone, didnt go on welfare, had more than the basic necessities, went on vacations to places my richer friends had never gone, and i ended up fine.

GirlsRock
believe or not according to Forbes magazine if your annual income less than 100K... you poor.
And if it more than 1 million K... you rich!

Frank Castle
You could make $800,000.00 and still struggle...
