Baby-sitting is a great job for a teen girl. It may take a little while for you to get hired at first, but just let your family and friends know so they can pass along your name.
Also, parents like for you to be as prepared as possible, so I suggest that you try to get Red Cross and CPR certified. |

I agree - you can do different things. Most places (even restaurants) will not hire you till you are at least 15 because of labor laws.
During the summer (if you are in the right area) you can detassle corn. It pays decent and doesn't get in the way of school.
Other than that, you can:
Babysit (take a training course at the local YMCA or
somewhere)
Do yard work - including shoveling snow, mowing lawns,
weeding, raking leaves.
Misc. stuff - around christmas you can wrap presents for
people, you can offer to clean houses, etc.
I knew a guy in school - by the time he was 16, he had business cards and had to turn people down because he was busy. He started about your age and saved enough to buy his car. It takes some work.
DO NOT let this interfear with school. Education is the best way to avoid struggling in later in life. I had to learn the hard way - now I am 29 and finally going back to college after having to work just to make ends meet. |

Great to see someone so young asking this question. You will be rich when you get older as long as you have great work ethic (work hard no matter what you are doing). Look at going door to door in your neighboorhood. Rake leaves, mow a lawn, stuff like that. Get a newspaper route when you can. Next thing you know people will be calling you to do other simple stuff but want to see you succeed. Best of luck. |
