Get a credit card from local bank and pay it in time. You also can use this service to avoid common mistakes while buiding credit and pre-estimate future scores for different scenarios of payments. - creditreport.fateback.com

Apply for a credit card. then spend about $50 (or an amount that's appropriate for you) on it a month, then pay it in FULL.

What I have done is get a low interest rate credit card & use it to pay for anything I'd normally pay for with cash, then I pay the full balance off each & every month no matter how bad I'd rather pay just the minimum balance.

Also, pay each & every other bill you have on time & never late. Utility companies are now reporting to credit agencies paid payments so that helps. The finance companies consider it alternative debt and it can be used in obtaining credit.

With a Credit Card.

Use it only for very small amounts - one fill-up at the gas pump - per month. Once the bill comes pay the whole thing off every month.
Play this game for about a year and you will find that your credit score has improved dramatically.

Basics: never use more than 30% of your cards limit in one billing cycle. (irregardless of whether you pay off in full every month or keep a revolving balance).

Better yet: Never use more than 10% and pay that off immediately and in full once you get the bill.

You will completely avoid any interest charges and you are building an excellent payment history. It also shows that you can handle "credit" responsibly and do not use it to finance a life style.

Within a couple of years you will have an excellent score and can use your high FICO score for more important loans like a mortgage.

Do not have more than 2 or 3 cards. Anything more is not going to improve your score and just plain dangerous.

But use each credit card at least once every other month to keep them active.

1.Open up a store credit car.
2.Pay the bills off.

Wait does the second part of that count for anything anymore???

go to your bank get a personal loan that doesn't require any collateral put the money you got from it in a savings account and every month make the payments on it from that account. When it gets down to an amount that you can pay off early without hurting yourself go for it.

Get one department store card and one low limit visa/mc/discover. Use them for about six months out of the year, does not have to be consecutive months, making sure to pay the balance when the statement comes. After a year you should be in good standing with your credit score, provided there is nothing else on your credit. If you are trying to make a major purchase such as a house or vehicle, after making the purchase don't use the cards. Pay everything in cash. Your major purchases will give you a continual good score because you will make those payments on time.
