I heard Citibank credit cards are great because they really monitor for identity theft. There are so many Citibank locations so it'll be convenient to pay your bill instead of mailing it in or paying online. I like to make sure my credit card payment is received on time.

That's a toughie. There might be something really great about a credit card company, but then there's something soooo annoying. Just like one credit card company isn't right for everyone, one credit card can't be perfect for you. There will be things you like and dislike about each company. I suggest you make a list of pros and cons for each company your considering. Remember to think about it carefully, don't jump into bed with a company you don't know, and read the fine print!!!

If you're using your credit card(s) like cash and paying off the balance each month (if not, don't use credit cards), then you're really looking for the card(s) that will pay you the most in rewards.

Since each rewards card pays different rewards percentages in different spending categories (like gas, restaurants, groceries, etc.), the one that's best for you will depend on how much you spend in those various categories.

The free calculator tool at http://www.creditcardtuneup.com/ will estimate how much you'll get in annual rewards from each credit card. It'll also determine the best combination of 2 cards, 3 cards, etc. Sometimes using an extra card can earn you a few hundred more bucks in rewards each year (or more depending on your spending pattern).

Your question referred to card fees. Most rewards cards have no annual fee, but, for those that do, that tool will subtract out the annual card fee from your expected annual reward so you can see the net cash back for using each card.

It all depends on your credit history. Sometimes you can get a decent deal at a credit union rather that a huge financial institution.

For me Chase Visa credit card. Look into it, if you will . No Anual fee at all.

How about a card with no annual fee, and no interest on purchases paid within the first 30 days of a cycle, and that gives you points or money back?!?!?!?

I have a Discover Platinum and a Chase MasterCard that both have those qualities.

If you like the new Battlestar Galactica, may I suggest ...

Credit cards are bad news. I wouldn't get one if I had to start over. Paying cash is your best bet.
