Do chores without having to be told. If you show responsibility and take on maybe extra work you can get more allowance.

I agree with all the people who said "do more to earn it," but maybe your parents really can't afford more. Suppose you reduced your expenses, or somehow managed to help reduce the expenses of the household. An example is recycling materials. If your family is in the habit of throwing recyclable materials away, volunteer to take them to the recycling center instead (with the help of an older sibling or parent), where you can be paid for many of the things, especially aluminum cans and glass bottles. Or run errands on your bicycle that would otherwise be done in the car, with all that incredibly expensive gas. Volunteer to clean out the storage spaces and set up a garage sale, splitting the income with your parents.

Look at the things your parents have to pay for, and see where you could do those things yourself and save money. Wait until the savings are in place, and your parents have a little more cash as a result, then ask if they could share those savings with you.

If you show yourself to be a real team player, and sensitive to the overall household budget, you may find that you don't even need a larger allowance. If you do, you will have a good argument for getting it.

Prove that you're worth it! Be more responsible around the house...take on chores that you may not have been asked to do, or do chores with a different attitude! Don't grumble or do your chores halfway. Do the best you can at everything you do, and I'll betcha your parents will not only notice, but up your allowance without you asking! But you have to keep up to the bar you set; don't shirk once you get more money! Keep up the extra's, and you'll feel more like an adult, too!

get off yer butt kid, stop playing video games and clean the house or something. take out the trash without being told to for once!...

Stay out of trouble. Do your chores. And maybe ask if there's anything else you can do to help out around the house. Once your a certified angel; then you can negotiate.

Do your chores without being told, do extra without being asked, help if you see someone else struggling. Getting more allowance is like getting a raise at a job, you have to show your worth the extra money, because you do more than what you're told or expected to, go above and beyond the call of duty.

Not Allie
Do more to earn it.

soozemusic
If you are asking how to get a "raise" but want to stick with the chores you have now and not add any new ones, then I would say that you need to prove that you have excelled and are deserving of one. I personally, believe that one should do chores around the home simply because they live there, not to get paid for it.

Offer more help around the house. Show you are deserving of it by doing more.

HAVE A GOOD ATTITUDE about doing chores!! Do things without being asked! if you can't see anything that needs done. ask what you can do! try to get thigs done fast but WELL!! remember ALWAYS HAVE A GOOD ATTITUDE DOING WHAT YOUR DOING! a bad attitude makes someone not want to pay you more.
Hope that helps!!!

Xena
Do more chores. Ask your parents if there is something you can do around the house for extra money. Or go around to neighbors and ask to mow their yard for them. Or get a job.
