LP | What is the best way to invest $100,000? |
We don't own a home currently and are about 3 years from retiring from the Military. We do not know where our next assignment is just yet, so buying a home outright if we may not stay there isn't our first option. We want the most return from it. Our children are 11 and 12 and we are expecting to pay for their colleges with this money in a few years. Any suggestions? |

My Dad was military retiree in Washington DC area and myself and my brothers-in-law and even nephew (US Naval Academy graduate) all served. My Dad brought us up watching the stock market and fortunately we all have done well with stocks and Mutual Funds as well...thanks to BS Finance degree via Army ROTC Scholarship and not living beyond our means...
Here are Few Tips if I were in Your Shoes: (i) Diversify to include holding good portion in what is referred to as Liquid Funds meaning high interest money market funds...2 recommendations since you're military are USAA High Performance Index Savings Account and like Pentagon or Navy Federal Credit Union Money Market Savings Account. When you finally purchase a home, the best mortgage interest rate will be the result of how much percentage % of the Home Price you put down (where 20% is often the target bec lower sometimes requires extra insurance) and if you can cover Settlement Costs. (ii) Another Excellent Area recently available to the active military is the Thrift Savings Plan: if you can afford to contribute the Maximum %, then I would highly recommend you do so (iii) College 529 Plans for each of your kids.
Best of Luck! |

well emigrant direct has about 5% interest on their savings accounts, about the highest in the country that Im aware of. Its a good place to have money while you're waiting to decide or to just keep it there and get 5% on your money with no risk. Mutual Funds work well too if you dont mind your money being invested for a min of 5 yrs. |

4 plex if you are looking to be able to make money for your own house payment, for example, here at Fort Hood "1'st Cav Here".. I purchased a 4 plex apartment, I charged 400.00 a month... So take 400 x's 4 =1,200 dollars a month... I have more than enough for my house payments, and to cover the needs of my 4 plex. Good Luck, And Thanks for the service, Thats hard to say, im still waiting for my packet to come back. HA* |

I would put some in a three or five year CD. This would be the highest return for the lowest risk.
For their college education, put it in a tax-free 529 plan. College Invest has different options that allow you to choose how aggressive or conservative you want to be. You don't have to pay taxes on the the interest earned when you take it out of the account. Not all states have this. |

PUT IT IN THE BANK!. At a high interest rate, you can accumulate a net profit of $10,000 a year! Just leave the $100,000 in the bank and never touch it, and you can earn $10,000 a year for the rest of your life! |

High rate CD. You can get about 5.35% on a 12 month CD - your money is FDIC protected - and you can roll it over for another term if you like.
You can also consider putting away money for your kids in a 529 plan. You use post-tax money, but the earnings grow tax free - and when you take it out, you don't pay taxes as long as the money is used for their education. |

FOREX!!!
The reason that some predict that Mark Vincellete will be on the cover of Time magazine is simply because of his brilliant strategy he developed for the Forex market. He is revolutionizing investing for the average investor. Making huge amounts of money and retiring young is not just for hedge fund managers. Investors who follow this program have been making unheard of returns. Due to compliance issues I cannot reveal the returns on investment but when you demo the program you will see for yourself. Once you see the power of the program you will tell everyone you know about it. That is why the company is growing 40% a month. This is a Forex hedge strategy and anyone can do it because of its simplicity. It takes about 10-20 minutes a week if that. You can follow the strategy with play money until you see how it works and are comfortable with investing. Don’t take me word for it though. Try it out for yourself. Watch the video presentation on the site below. It will explain everything through the video. www.demofreedomrocks.com. Take care
5000 @ 12% a month = 1.6 million in 4 years. 19 million in 6 years. 12% a month???? Its possible. Thats all I can say without getting into compliance issues. |
