You can open a free checking account. Get a VISA ATM card and send it to him. If the bank is in the UK he might be able to take out the money for free. If not they will just charge you 1 to 2 dollars for using someone else's ATM and maybe an international surcharge of 1 or 2 percent. It's still cheaper than western union or anything else I've tried. |

You can go to your bank and wire the money to your son. You must have his bank account number to do this.

you can try western union or you can transfer your money from your account to your son account if he has one in australia.
if he has a visa reload card you can just add money to it. I hope this helps. |

I would try finding a bank with branches in both UK and Australia. If you can't, then use Western Union (don't know if you have it in UK or if it's solely American), or another similar company. The easiest way may be to transfer money from your bank account in the UK to one he's setup in Australia.
Sorry I couldn't be more help, but I don't know much about the UK and its relations with Australia, and I'm American, so I don't know the names of any banks in either country. |

Mail him a check. Saves on money on bank fees or transfer fees. Wiring money is fast but it cost money, which your son would probably rather spend himself. |
