There are certain luxuries in life that we Americans view as necessities, but you can actually survive without them:
1) Cancel your cable service;
2) Cut back on the # of times you eat out per month;
3) Car pool to work/school;
4) Increase your auto insurance deductible;
5) Shop at discount stores & garage sales instead of the mall;
6) If you get a raise at work, allocate the increase in pay to a savings account.
Hope this helps! |

Pay your bills each month. Don't carry a balance on any credit cards if you can. Buy things that you need not things that you want. Save money each month for an emergency fund and for retirement. Try to be as debt free as possible. Having money in the bank is far better than any name brand product. |

Pay off all ur debts then cancelled all ur credit cards but at least save the one with the most credit line then put it in a savings account. |

First of all cut up your credit cards. This is a bad American habit...to live out of your means. Change your spending motto to. "If I don't have cash for it right now...I don't need it."
* Rent movies, don't go see them (or cut back)
* Cook at home (BIG money saver)
* Take your own lunch to work
* Buy off brands at the grocery store ( I have been doing this and honestly can't tell. Some things I buy brand names of though)
* Clip coupons
* Open blinds, keep lights off during the day
* Keep your a/c up while you are out of the house |

something i can recommend other than the answers listed is something that larger banks offer now called a systematic saver cd. certificates of deposit are deposits set for a selected amount of time and if you take the cash out early, you're penalized. with a systematic saver you can start typically with a small amount, say 50 or 100, then you set up a draft of 25 bucks or something. it slowly starts to add up. 12 months down the road, you have a small nest egg.
next, look at what you're truly spending and make two sides, needs and wants. write down everything you typically spend money on, put it on post its. then take them and consider which side each one needs to go on. when you've finished, budget for your needs. then take whatever is left and budget your wants. good luck! |

Put it in the bank and forget about it, spend someone else's, you need to remember that in order to be considered a success, it's not what you have, but what money you have saved. don't give your money away! EVERYONE wants your money. When they call on the phone for a donation, tell them you don't have any money, and don't bother you. If you charge something, deduct it from your checking account, that way you'll have the money to pay for it when you get the bill. You won't pay interest that way. when you go to buy a vehicle, shop around for the best interest rate, take the rebate instead of the 0 percent and apply that toward the down payment. Pack your lunch instead of buying it. If you don't have it, you won't spend it. SAVE it. Then take what you SAVE & make money off of that, in a CD, make them pay you to use your money. If your invited somewhere where you know you'll have to give money, tell them you have to check your calendar, then don't go. That's money not spent. You do what you've gotta do. Don't give your money away to anyone! It sounds awful, but you really sound like you need to start somewhere! |

take it easy. the more work you have, the more money you will get and the more you will spend. work gives you stress and this lets you spend to satisfy yourself. |

Why don't you budget your money in a way to make sure you still have money at the end of the month. Don't waste money on what you want. |

Avoid going to places where you are likely to spend money. If you do go take a pre-determined amount of crash and leave credit/debit at home. |

Don't go places that you would spend money. go for a walk, go to the lake, stay at home and read a book, go to the library and check books or magazines out. Many community buildings have activities which cost little or no money and are for adults as well as young people. Have friends over for potlucks or game night.(make sure everyone knows to bring something like munchies or soda)
Trade clothes and shoes or even books and magazines with family and friends. That way everyone gets some stuff for little of nothing. |

First, and foremost, discipline is the key to stopping yourself from spending. Force yourself.
Next, credit cards just increase the amount of money you spend, when you can pay less with simple cash. kill the credit cards.
After that, when you buy things, look for the cheapest price. Bargains are great. When buying produce, go to the farmer's market, where you can get things fresh and cheap.
Finally, don't buy things that you DO NOT NEED. Exercise control over yourself, and each time you buy something, ask "Is this necessary to my life?"
Good Luck! |

The best way to stop sending so much money is to first create a budget by yourself.IN a budget you have to fix a rate for all necessary home expenditures such as telephone bill,electricity bill etc.Regarding your purchasing manner,first prepare a list of the items you want to buy,the next decide the limits of the money rate u would like to buy,for example:Rs.300 to 500.For all the items u note down the rates and buy according to that.This will save your time and money.Do not go in for unnessary products until u feel that it is of good use for u.Many people decide about their purchasing based on their financial status which is very important.I hope these tips will be beneficial for u and amke shopping an exciting one for u. |

FRIEND,
ONCE YOU LEAVE YOUR PLACE WITHOUT TAKING A SINGLE PENNY IN YOUR POCKET WITH THE COMMITMENT THAT YOU WILL COME BACK TO YOUR PLACE WITH SOME MONEY WHICH YOU EARNED WITH YOUR OWN HANDS AND HARD WORK. THAT DAY YOU WILL KNOW THE VALUE OF MONEY AND WILL NOT WAIST THE SAME FOR FURTHER. |
