What is the status on Torcan Financial based out of Toronto, Ontario? I just sent $500 cash via a money gram?
I sent them $500 via money gram and was told I would receive a call from a customer service rep in the next 48 hours and my loan would be wired to me.

I just spoke with phonebusters, and they confirmed with me that this in in fact a scam. It is illegal under Canada law, as well as US law to ask for a "fee" or any up front funds before the loan is completely processed. I have had to close my bank account and call the credit bureaus. This is going to affect my direct deposit, my outstanding checks and automatic debits from my account. It will probably take me a month to get this whole thing fixed. Do not send them anything - SSN, Bank Account info, address, phone - don't send them a PENNY. You will NEVER see your money again.

The person I was dealing with told me yesterday that he had 2 sons, and today when I spoke with him he told me he had 3 daughters and a son. Doesn't make much sense to me. That was a red flag in itself. These people are professional scam artists. They are convincing and make you want to trust them. I really needed help financially, and was happy to learn I was approved for a 10K loan, but when I realized I had to send them $1000, my excitement turned to frustration very quickly. If you have delt with these people, please contact phonebusters.com. The more people that report these sleaze bags the better. Don't let them hurt more people.

i got a call from them today i freaked out on them for nothing. they told me that they have released the money for me to my account. i thought it was bs but when i looked up my account online the money was there. i dont know what to think now cause i was convinced they were a scam. let me know if you got your money.

I dealt with this company today. While looking online for quick bad credit loans, I found them. Sounded to good to be true. It was.
I let them go thru their whole speel and then they asked me for 10% of the money. I shared with them that I work in law enforcement (which I do) and I was aware that it is illegal to ask for money up front. They hung up on me.

I also used www.whitepages.com to do a reverse search of their phone number. It is 'unlisted'. How many legitimate businesses, who claim to have been in business for 18 years, have unlisted phone numbers. SCAM!!!!

That's the oldest loan scam in the book. Now you won't be able to do anything about it. Last year I had recieved an e mail from some company supposedly working out of NY, but were based in Canada. It sounded too good to be true so I did some thorough checking up on them. They were of course a scam. I reported them but unfortunately people like that are hard to catch up with because they keep moving and changing their name so often. Never pay any up front fees for a loan or to have the money transfered to you. Most important, DON'T GIVE OUT ANY PERSONAL OR BANK INFO!!!!!. Call the BBB, FTC, anyone you can think of to report them.

Got a call from them this past weekend. Total scam! Called the BBB in Canada and they told me to call Phonebusters (Established in January of 1993, PhoneBusters is a national anti-fraud call centre jointly operated by the Ontario Provincial Police and the Royal Candian Mounted Police) and report them. Phonebusters works with the FBI. 1-888-495-8501 or www.phonebusters.com

I am trying myself to see if this Torcan Financial is legit. The BBB has no info. on them. Here are some numbers that you can call. Daniel Blair is listed as the CEO of the company. His local phone number is (416) 924-7890. His toll free number is 1-866-230-5233 Ext. 2245. Call him and get him to provide proof that Torcan Financial has been in buisness since 1989. Their website is www.torcanfinancial.com.
