They will probably ask you if you have a friend or family member that can pay it for you.
As long as your attitude is apologetic and willing to work it out with them they will work with you. They will probably take down your drivers license number.
Every restaurant is different but I would think they would prefer to work it out with you than to call the police. |

call the restaurant and ask them, but do not tell them who you are or where you are calling from. Tell them you are calling for "a friend", and if they ask, make up a name. Then you will know what they will do. |
