Something that will outlive you. At $70 million, there's a lot open to you. I would first say that you should buy time with a mentor. Speaking from personal experience here, if your money is bigger than you are, it will soon shrink to meet you at your level. As far as financial advisers go, there are very few who are wealthy enough to be giving advice on how to handle wealth. If you find yourself at the bookstore, I'd recommend:
1) The Magnificent Obsession by Lloyd C. Douglas
2) The Millionaire Mind by Thomas Stanley
3) a leather journal
I say that last one because you will make some major mistakes. Its just kinda the way wealth works. So write the lessons down so you don't have to repeat them.

Why buy anything? In the current situation we are in, I would say hold your money or invest it in real-estate. It is really a buyer's market right now and you could make a killing in another ten years. Wish I had some money, because that is what i would do. |

That's a lot of money and the market sucks so first buy a house ( a nice one it doesn't have to be millions of dollars something comfortable) then buy another house you can rent out for extra income and pay off bills then just put some away in like a certificate with a high interest rate for Futur kids school and weddings and stuff ( I also wouldn't tell anyone I have money or you'll start hearing from people you never knew or don't remember) and then hook the people close to you up then travel the world man! and what ever is left over put in savings. Oh and give some to charity you can also write that off on your taxes so its no big deal. I'd help schools in your community you know maybe fund the music department (they never get funding and it keeps kids out of trouble...I was a band geek) kids need a brighter education and teachers can't always spend their own money for supplies they don't' get paid enough. |

I don't know what you should do with your money. I don't even know for sure what I would do with that kind of money. I have always worked very very very hard. I have never made a lot of money. So to say for sure would be impossible.
I do know that I love animals very much. I would hope that I would start an animal rescue program. I certainly would not have to worry about funding.
I would also try to help single mother. I would like to start a school for single moms. A place where they could have their children and the help they need to get to the resources so they could help themselves. I don't believe in abortion. Many people have said to me if you don't believe abortion what should be done with the children that are not aborted. That would be my answer. I am pretty sure that the two things that I have mentioned would pretty much take care of the vast majority of $70 million dollars.
Save the critters and the children, that is what I would hope to do with $70 million. Can I say for sure I would spend it all on those two things. I doubt it. I am sure I would set up a trust fund for my son. He has a disability and cannot help himself. So maybe most of the $70 million would go to my two causes, and the rest to taking care of my son. I am 45 so I don't have that many years left on the earth, but I would love to leave a legacy of love and kindness when I do die. I would love to be able to leave my son with everything he needs.
My family and friends would benefit greatly from that amount of money. So I guess it would be split. Critter and children one third, my son one third, rest of family and friends one third.
