If you want to spend a small portion $300 or so that is ok. Place the rest is a CD or a college fund.

put $2000 in a registered educational savings plan and $1000 in a gic(guaranteed income certificate) for 6 months then when it's matured then put it also in the education account. if you go to university or college you will get the money with a bonus if you don't go then you still get the money.

Save it and open a Roth IRA for your retirement. Think about your future and not how you can spend it right away because once that money is gone, it is hard to get back. Do you want to go to college?

If you spend the $500 wisely I don't think that would hurt.

I would also open a savings account for a rainy day or vacation that you would like to go on.

I know my ideas may not sound of interest but that is what I would suggest.

One more idea is to have a emergency day fund.

I'd have to suggest investing it in a spelling and grammar teacher, you seem to need it.

you sound more grounded than most of us, we should be asking you questions. I'm not you but not a bad idea to watch it grow without going crazy like the drunken sailors called Americans. Imagine if you had enough to be able to finance your own higher education or have enough working capital to start your own business that you are informed and passionate about without going into debt. Stay the course. Your way ahead of the curve. Don't bend to temptation by blowing money on all that glitters.

Save it. Money is not easy to come by and should be treated with respect when you have it. Do u plan on going to school? Think about that cause it isn't cheep.

Spending $500 for things you need and want, and saving the rest is an excellent idea. Because you earned the money, you can set up an IRA for yourself. The earlier you start, the more your account will be worth when you retire. (By the way, you are mistaken if you think you can "make up to $10,000". You can make whatever you are able to make, but you have to pay taxes at a certain point, depending on whether it's self-employment income, interest income, etc. Check the IRS website.)
