Cd's and other investments at a bank are not the way to go at the moment. The rates are to low. Try investing in the stock market. Find a company like washington mutual that has been beat up good and at a low and buy now and hold for about 2-3 years. They should go up to 20-25 a share and are at 9 and change now. This is just an example and it is only my opinion. I am not a stock broker and you can loose money on the stock market. |

IF you don't already have a retirement fund set up, that would be a smart thing to do--open a Roth IRA...the earlier in your adult life that you start saving, the more you will save, with interest compounding....
When you are old an grey, you will be so happy that you did! |

Check on the rate for CD's. at your bank.
Penguin had a good idea charity would be a very nice thing to do. I donated $500 dollars to juvenile diabetes foundation a few months ago. Of course you dont have to donate all of it but every little bit helps out. |

You should invest in the stock market. Just keep it in there for a while and take it out when your money has doubled or even tripled!!!

I Would Develop Credit Lines for the Future! You might want a House or start a business someday!
Here is what I did to get credit again, yes some will complain about this in this blog, but I know how much it helped me.
Use Corporations! Just like the Big Boys Do!
I was working for a home improvement company and got hurt, only to find out they had no insurance as they told all tehir employees and customers. So my credit got killed with $55,000 in medical bills. The State did nothing to help!
After my credit score went to 503 from 780 I found this company that creates corporations with credit. I got a $50,000 Loan in 5 months.
Get a corporation going and develop its credit. Not as easy as it sounds. Getting a corporation and mailing address for it is no challenge for anyone, but getting a Dunn and Bradstreet Paydex score is hard, but not as hard as trying to resurect a bankruptcy score.
Another benefit to this is that your personal credit is not needed nor personal guarantees on any loans or credit that the corporation gets. Next time if you chave a failure it will not affect your credit score. Some creditors will ask for it, but there are hundreds that dont.
Ok it was not cheap, but it is effective here is the costs from the company that I worked with:
6 months to $150,000 Credit Program $4,900 One Payment
6 months to $150,000 Credit Program $4,200 to start and $ 350 per month for 3 months
6-9 months to $150,000 Credit Program $3,195 to start and $425 per month for 5 months
6-9 months to $150,000 Credit Program $1,995 to start and $475 per month for 8 months
9-12 months to $150,000 Credit Program $595 to start and $495 per month for 12 months!
I got $50,000 in 5 months and have applied for more that looks promising.

Invest in gold. In October gold sold for $800 per ounce, now it's more like $1200. Plus you can sell it to any currency if/when the dollar gives out. |

Shop around the different bank websites to see what their CD and money market rates are. That is, you invest your $900 for a set period of time (6 months, 12 months, etc) and you cant touch it. It earns interest all the while until it matures. If you want, you can roll it into another one. But the trick is, you dont have access to that money until it matures.
Or you can put it into a high interest savings account. Same idea applies, only you can make withdrawels if you need to. But it doesnt earn as much.
You can buy a couple stocks and see what happens. This is risky, but you might turn over a decent dividend.

With the first half: If you are a boy/man you can go buy yourself a video game. If you are a girl/woman, you can go by yourself some make-up or a bra or clothes!!!!! Go to your local mall and look around. If you see something you like, buy it. You can also go to a animal sheltar and buy yourself a pet.
With the second half: you can put it in a bank or start a bank account and you will get intrest and everything so it will grow. |
