What is the average amount of money two people should spend on groceries per month? I'm looking at my budget and wondering if we're spending too much. |

If you're eating the amount you are spending now then more than likely its going to be hard to cut back on that b/c you are accustomed to eating that amount. My suggestion is to get more foods that can be frozen b/c they have a longer life that way (MEATS).. Also if you are not to particular with the name brands of some products, try the store brand which will cut you back the amount as well. If you buy alot of sodas try substituting a few with water and have the water together at a meal. $50-60 dollars a week is more than enough to last you guys. My aunt and uncle are in their 50's and eat regular meals except they eat them all at home and they are able to only spend $25-30 a week on groceries and still have food left over. Also another suggestion is left overs dont toss them, look up some recipes on here to spruce up those leftovers for the next day. I would also suggest buying larger packs of meat and packaging it into freezer bags for the quanity that you would eat at a serving and freezing it.. |

My family is my 9 year old daughter, my husband and myself. None of us eat breakfast at home except on the weekends. None of us eat lunch at home either. Just dinner and snacks--weekend meals.
For regular groceries I spend about 300 per month
For School lunch it works about to be 35 a month
For lunches for me and my husband work out to be 240
So total we spend 575 per month on food |

Depends on how often you eat from your groceries. Are you making breakfast at home and bringing lunch to work? Do you ever have dinner out at a restaurant?
If two people ate a healthy diet three meals a day, seven days a week, I would expect them to spend between $100 and $150 per week on groceries. |

We are a family of 4. Two adults, one 15yr old and one 3yr old. We spend on average $125 to $150 a week. The three yr old doesn't each much, so I would say about $ 75 to $80 would feed you very well.
PS: that also include stuff like laundry soap, bathing products etc.. |

You could live healthy on $150 a month, but boring (oats, apples, beans), or you could live with a variety of healthy foods, about $400 a person, I would say. If you buy junk food, beer and sodas, there is no limit up or down. |
