I'm with swolf.

Henry David Thoreau said it best when he said, "that man is richest who's pleasures are cheapest."

Translation: the most important thing you can learn (financially) is the difference between what you want and what you need.

The "secret" to becoming rich is simple - never spend more than you earn, and set aside some of EVERY paycheck toward savings. Even if you can only save a little bit, you'll be amazed at how quickly it adds up.

I hope that helps. Good luck!

Save $100/week for 40 years.
If you put it in a good mutual fund, it'll turn into several million bucks.

Think long term. If you are young the best wealth building tool you have is time. Utlilize the beauty of compounding interest. Like the previous answer. Invest 10 to 15 percent of your gross annual income into a 401K or Roth IRA retirement fund. Even on an average salary (40k) a year, You WILL be a Multimillionare by the time you are 60.!

For 99.99 percent of the poulation wealth is obtained over the long haul and not overnight.

rob banks

Pepper
1. get a good education - get a good job - work hard - live on less than you make

2. save - compound interest is wonderful - don't buy anything you don't really need

3. learn to play poker well and win -- note that the odds are stacked against you

4. deal drugs -- note that this is illegal -- and I don't recommend it

5. sell yourself into slavery - wait then you wont be able spend the money

6. prostitution -- again illegal -- and I don't recommend it

7. befriend a rich relative

8. start your own business - take inputs, transform them into a more valuable output, then sell the output

9. write a best selling novel

10. play the stock market - buy low, sell high

11. trade futures in commodities - buy low, sell high

12. rob banks - yep another illegal one -- you'll probably get caught -- I don't recommend it

13. learn to sell stuff - then get a job where you make commissions - car sales, appliance sales, real estate

14. buy houses / apartments / office space and rent it

15. "flip houses" - bad time for this - buy a house then fix it up and sell for more than you bought it

16. free lance photography - go to a war zone - take great pictures - sell to CNN

- write down at least five things or at most ten things you can do
- select at least three that you are very good at and people are willing to pay money for
- learn everything you can about them. Get a mentor and read books on the subjects concerned
-sharpen your skills in sales; through seminars and books
- package them into products and services
- use the products yourself and start selling it to your family, friends and close groups
-as you make money, put out at least 20% of your profit for savings and investment, putback at least 30% into the business
-put the saved money to work through buying stocks(buy from the secondary market), mutual funds, equity and hedge funds etc. you can also look for real estate deals that you can execute with at least 5% of your profits.

on the other hand;

- sharpen your financial intelligence; a basic course in accounting, business Adminstration and business law or finance will do
- read money books. i suggest you read these books:

these will help you for a start.
-Sell something; Anything you understand perfectly and have used.
-Join wealth, business and money clubs or mastermind group where the members share ideas and experiences. it must consist of people who their lives challenge you to achieve more for yourself.
-Be diligent
