This is what I would do:
1) I would pay off my debt.
2) Put $10,000 into an emergency fund. At a 5% rate of return, I would have about $512 in interest in 12 months.
3) Put $800,000 into various mutual funds. If it earns a 12% rate of return, I can potentially have $2.6 million in 10 years. In 20 years, $8.7 million. In 30 years, $28.7 million. In 40 years, $94.9 million!
4) Spend the rest.

10% minimum should always go to the Church; in this case it would be at least $100,000. Since it is such a large sum, an additional $75,000 to $100,000 extra could easily go to the Church or their Building Fund. Probably 35% would have to go to the federal government. Would be very appropriate to give another $80,000 to $100,000 to underprivileged children around the world to help provide them with food, clothing and supplies and funding for school. Might also try to get me a place in the country; not a lot of land..maybe 2-5 acres with a decent house. Would likely consider a little vacation also.

pay all my bills and all my parents bills and buy a vacation home.

I wouldn't quit my job because at 26 one million isn't enough to retire on. But, I'd have no major debt, and my parents would be able to retire quicker. It'd be real nice.

Invest some
Buy a nice new car maybe hybrid
Pay back for my college loans
Pay back any major debts
Spend the rest on a house and if enough a vacation home
