Finally own a home. Nothing big or fancy, just a place to grow old with my husband with some room for grandkids to visit. Finally take care of some medical problems that need attending (no insurance, you know). Pay off our (used) car and buy my husband a truck so we could be a 2 car family. |

I wouldn't buy anything. I'd pay off my mortgage, credit cards, car, and student loans in that order. Whatever was left I'd put in CD's or savings. |

I wouldn't buy anything ... i would pay off my home loan , my parents home loan and then put the rest away for my children. |

In the current market? Buy a house. The housing market is down, so prices are low, and thus appreciation is more likely as the market recovers. And I'm not talking about the 4000sqft over-the-top American house that helped get us into our current crisis, but a nice 1500sqft or so, in the city, with some privacy.
Beyond that, I'd pay off my condo, rent it out, pay off my credit cards and auto loan, and then hotbox my new house ;) |
