I'd put it into one of those time CD's where you can't get to the money for such a period of time. Obviously this would be with a rival institution. I'd have all the interest dumped into my checking account. That way the bank can't take it back right away, but will EVENTUALLY get their money. I'm not stealing, they loose nothing, and I get a bunch of free cash. |

I would transfer that money so fast your head would spin, head for a nice sea house in Thailand, and sit in the sunshine sipping cognac for the rest of my life. |

i would definitely take the cash. The banks screw people over so often, it's only fair that we screw them over when we get the chance too. |

Notify the bank or else you'll have a lot of explanations to do keeping those monies. |

I'd give it back. the bank WILLl hold you responsible for their mistake. and they won't just forget where they put that 2.5 million. Its all tracked on the 'puters.
I had 12,000 deposited in my account at bank united a long time ago. It was someone with the same name as me, but the bank had mixed us up. I saw my balance and the next day I return to withdrawl and they already took it. I asked what happened to my money and they explained what had happened. I was too late and it was probably a good thing or I'd eventually be in jail I bet |

I would call the bank...first off because it is the morally "right" thing to do. Secondly, because the bank probably would find out and then I would be in major trouble for not reporting it..Thirdly, I would report it because I would probably end up getting some recognition and fame (which could wind up giving me some money anyways) |

get the cash if possible, then buy something (untracable) worth 2 million asap, then resell it... so you have the cash and noone can take it back from you.. as for spending the money i would probably invest it into some kindof business like flipping expensive houses (fix up to make worth more)and resell them to make even more millions of dollars... then i would put most my funds into researching robots and artificial intelligence that could analyze and make comparisons to all the things in the world and come up with solutions and inventions and theories( basically like how we humans do but much better and efficiently)... Then with the accumulated knowledge i would have the secret to become immortal and eternally youthful and maybe then research a ways to make myself into a more efficient being through the geneic enginerring knowledge my robots gained and make enhancements to myself like gorilla arms capable of lifting 1000 lbs with one arm, etc.... then id do research making the world more efficient and spreading the word of efficientcy to all people where we research ways to expand our civilization and improve our technology in ways uncomprehendable today.... because theirs nothing better to do as an infinite being i guess. besides think of the heat death of the unviverse all we do anyway is worthless because all will be destroyed in the end... where everything restarts with a new big bang. unless the way to travel to alternate universes is found... or a way to not have the universe die and implode and start fresh.... anyway good luck with the answer... |

This is not such a tough question. Very simply stated if you withdraw money that was put into your account by mistake you will face not only state felony charges but federal felony charges as well (if the bank is insured by FDIC, which most are). You can bet that whoever the 2.5mil belongs to has already called the bank looking for his money.
Is 2.5mil worth going to jail for 5 or 10 years? |

I would keep the money and whoever is missing it can kiss my a ss... Oh yea, and the bank can kiss the left cheek if there is no room on the right because the other person is kissing that cheek |

Hmmm. tough question. On first impulses i would be very tempted to withdraw the money, but after thinking about it I reckon i would just leave it there for the bank to find out about the mistake but after about a week or two if they didnt fix their error I would withdraw it lol |

Haha, this happened to me on purpose on my wedding day, I have not regretted it since, even now that I've filed for divorce.
I would give back the cash, the banks are too smart when they realize their money's gone! |
