The last thing you want to do is threaten the person. In today's world doing that is apt to get you fired or worse.

Be careful when lending money to people. Not everyone will pay you back. It is a lesson best learned early. With that said, I lend money to co-workers every now and then, but I know them well enough to expect the money back (and I let them borrow only what I am willing to lose).

If you really want the money back, your best bet would be to ask them consistantly. If you want to make a point of it ask them when you are around other co-workers. Be polite and nice when you ask, but if you let a few people overhear each time they might be more inclined to pay you back.

If it's a small amount, get over it, Hope you learned never to lend money to friends,co-workers or family in the future.

UGh..I knew an idiot that I let borrow 20 bucks. And even on pay day I would ask for my money. Sigh..i never got it.

I don't know...either you just let it go.. or you have to think of something mean and nasty to say..to get your money.

Hmm... if you really really want your money..just take something of theirs and then tell them you'll give it back when you get your money. Or sell whatever you took on craigslist.

Bug the hell out of that person. Call them 7 times a day. Ask them 77 times a day. If they are young...tell they're parents to make em give it to you. Have other people even bug them about it.

Sorry I don't know any like.."good" ways to get it back.

Forget it .... and don't loan money anymore to co-workers. You probably won't see the money, and if you just consider it gone forever, you will feel surprised if it ever gets paid back. The important thing is not to let it bother you every day ... just get on with your life - it can only go two ways, they pay you or they don't. No sense being upset by it all the time, right?

Be persistent, ask them everyday about it. They'll pay you back just to get you to stop asking.

well you can beat him up. haha but thats not a good idea. i think you should just tell him to stop the bull crap and pay up or ask him if he has any money problems, and if he says he doesnt.. go to court, how much are you talking about anyways?

coolcat 08
Just suck it up and learn from it. Don't ever lend them any more money. People like that will get what's coming to them. If it is a large amount $500.00 or more, take them to small claims court if they don't pay.

Say that you are gonna break his legs

It don't matter if it is a girl or guy, if you two made it clear that the person would pay it back. Than you should confront that person and ask what the hold up is. And maybe you ask if they can't pay it all up front that you two set-up a payment plan. The problem with loaning people you work with money is.. sometimes it gets in the way of your job. I have loaned people money that I have worked with before. I make sure that they know when and how I want it back. I have also set-up apayment plan, if they can't give it to me all at once. But if you see that it may get you in trouble at work...let it be. If you like your job, if not than take the legs out till you get it back..lol

ramon90003
well I would send them to peoples court and also depends on how much they owe you no but really seriously tell them to pay up if not sue there asses

Curious
I'd keep asking but i would say that you could kiss that money goodbye

I'd ask making sure that others are around too so either the person feels pressure from other people knowing that they owe you money or..... they realise this person is a bad payer and dont loan them any money in future

Koshmar
depends on how much they owe you. if it's an insignificant amount, then i would just forget about it, and make sure my next borrower is trustworthy to pay me back. if you really need this large sum of money...go to someone who knows how to forcefully collect money

depending on the amount the small claims courts
