I'd gasp, snatch it up, and imagine what I'd spend it on if it were mind...then I'd call the police and report it so that whoever lost it could claim it. I know I'd be beside myself if I lost $3K. It's no fortune but for us workin' folks, it's no small potatos either! |

I found $5 and the police laughed at me. At some point, it is good to report it. As I've met dirty cops, my fear would be that the police would keep it and I'd want proof that it was handled correctly. |

Look around and see who dropped it.Cleverly ask someone if they lost money but not give the amount.I would put it in the bank if I could not find anyone;and wait.Noone claims then I would keep it.I would never give it the police;they suck. |

I'd turn it in to the police. Too many variables as to where it may have come from; if it was from a bank robbery or some kind of sting operation, it could be marked. |
