First, I'd buy both my adult kids a nice moderately-sized house in a calm neighborhood. Then, I'd give each of my step-sons $100,000 each toward their mortgages (they already have houses). Then, I'd request a 6-month leave of absense from work and travel the world with my beloved husband.

Set up a foundation to give away the money, then pay myself an annual salary each year to do so. A million dollars could make $80,000 a year in investments easily, so if I paid myself $50,000 a year, I could still give away lots of money and have a job for more than a decade! |
