Been there and done that. Pray a lot and try to find anther job. That's the simple answer. The fact is my husband is the one who lost his job but I was not working at the time. Things really went downhill but I won't go into it all. Now, a few years later, we are both working and things are a lot better. So, you pray and hold out hope that things will get better eventually. |

Start looking for jobs and accept anything (nothing against the law of course) that comes along for the time being to tie you over your finances. Meanwhile do not stop looking until you find one that suits your interest. |

As Angela said pray alot and look for another job. I too have been there done that. Its hard - unfortunately way too many of us live paycheck to paycheck and have little savings. You take each day as it comes - find ways to keep yourself focused and motivated. It all becomes overwhelming and depressing so focus and motivation are key. Don't be afraid to ask for help. And depending on the job market, the reality is you may not be able to find a job quickly - not even any job. Unless someone has actually been in your situation they don't understand that sometimes it is difficult to find a job and when lots of people are out of work (like the months/year after September 11th) you can't always get a job - because that job you might have not considered before you lost your job is a job that you are overqualified for and the employer isn't willing to hire someone who will leave as soon as the next best thing comes along. |

been there done that. when 911 happen i was on unemployment & when it ran out i had to look for a job( was looking before that point) it was ruff. I looked & looked & finally went back to an old job i had & stayed. Good jobs are still hard to find most places only hire peek time or part time so they don't have to pay benefits. Depending on your experience or education go to the employment office My son went back to school but he also could only get part time work or temp full time work Be careful letting schools talking you into enrolling it doesn't mean you'll have a job waiting for you.You'll have a loan to pay for & maybe no job. the schools hype it up to get you enrolled. .If push comes to shove & you have no money go to your family or apply for food stamps but don't give up & keep looking. |

I had a job that was outsourced at one point. I just took another job and looked carefully until I found one I really wanted. There's always a job available somewhere. There is no reason to end up broke, even if you have to ask for help temporarily. |

Well, with the current welfare system, you won't necessarily ever truly be broke. As long as you can maintain a PO Box or Mailing address, the government will get you assistance. This should be your last choice.
I have however, been so down and out that I didn't make more then $80 a week working day labor. I did what ever I had to do to keep going. You should never stop trying to find a job. There are always fast food, and other customer service jobs that you can do to keep your head above water, until you find a job that you fit or are trained for. Watch the movie Pursuit of Happyness, with Will Smith, this will help explain why not to just give up. |
