When I was 16 I didn't want to work in fast food so some friends of mine all got together and schemed a ton of ways to make money...

During prom season we made jewellery and beautiful decorated hair combs. We sold them in local prom dress shops and made heaps of money!

In the summer we sold frozen drinks at the beach. We'd buy them from the supermarket and chill them at home, and then put them in freezer bags and walk down the beach selling them during the hottest part of the day.

We also offered to do stuff for our neighbours...They'd pay us to clean their pools or do their shopping/fetch dry-cleaning etc. Sounds boring, but if you do it with your friends it's heaps more fun...you get more done, and then split the money!

Also babysitting is good...and pretty easy. You can put up flyers in your local newsagent or shopping centre...

Good luck x

Cleaning, kitchenwork, packing, running errands, gardening, babysitting, newspaper delivery are some of the jobs available. These jobs will be posted in local newspapers and billboards. Many businesses hesitate to employ minors because of the legal restrictions on working hours and documentation required.
A better option is to work from home on your computer - write articles, sell on eBay, make a website, take surveys. In some cases, you may have to set up an account in your parents or guardians name, and ask them to pay you, after they get the money for your work. Find a part time job with a company or operation of which you have an interest. If you're interested in fast food, go work at a fast food joint. If you're interested in cars, go work with a mechanic. If you like health care, go work in that field.

Start building your experiences now, to help you formulate your career decisions later.

Once you've finished all your exams, sell any old textbooks/revision books you have on Ebay. Thats what I intend to do.
