They can do whatever they want when it comes to a bill unless you have a signed payment agreement. |

Talk to the company and offer to pay 10% now and each paycheck until the bill is paid. |

Call and ask to set-up a payment plan. And tell them that you only have what you can pay. Like if you only have 100.00 dollars. Say that you can only pay 100.00. But you are willing to pay a bill each month. |

Just keep sending what you can. Include a short note that explains your financial situation. Just keep in touch with the debtee. You'll be surprised how helpful they might be in letting you pay down your bill. Worst thing you can do is ignore them.
Keep paying whatever you can and pay often. |

Crap. Depends on how much you are behind and how much your bill is and what kind of bill. If it's a credit card or personal loan, you need to pay whatever the amount is to bring it short of a default delinquency; the amount where they say they can collect; probably 90 days. If it's a medical bill, usually any amount will forstall collection. |

As long as you call and set up payment arrangements for whatever amount you can afford, they won't turn you over to collections. usually the only time they do that if you don't pay anything at all |

As long as you are paying something, they can't really turn you over to a collection agency. I'm sure that they want you to pay more than like $1.00, but we have people paying $10.00 towards a $600.00 bill at my work and we can't do anything about it as long as they keep paying once a month. If you miss a month, then they can turn you over to the collection agency and even take you to court. |

Something reasonable, like $100. I means they are not going to play around with you if you send in 50 cents in a month. |

If the company has send you a notice of pre-collection than you no other choice than to pay in full, if the company is nice enough they will allow you to pay samll payments. |

771.00 plus a charge that the collection agency decides is appropriate.
you can offer to settle for a percentage, but the collection agency will not negotiate.
contact the original owner of the debt and see if you can work anything out, but i doubt it.
the collection agency can take you to court for a judgement, which will cost the original debt, the collection agencies mark up plus court costs. |

10 % which would be $77.10. Keep paying that much towards it and you will keep your credit good. |

you can send them any amount you want, and write "paid in full" on the memo line - if they cash this check, your debt is LEGALY PAID and will uphold in court |
