katyelizabeth1983 | Whats the quickest and easiest way to save money? |
Need to save a couple of thousand however I would be grateful if anyone has any tips on saving money fast. We cant cut back on the car as we need that, but other suggestions would be great thanks.
BTW, we have an electric meter which we cant get rid of till next year and we use about £5 gas every three months, so no use trying to shop around for better deals there. Thanks |

If you actually track the money that you are now spending you will find where to save. Most people are incredibly surprised after tracking only a couple weeks of spending (every penny now) where there money goes.
Track first. ~ the answer is there. |

Save at least 10% of your income, treat it like it was an important bill that you have to pay, put in as much as you can, but not more than you can do without, you should find that 10% is easy when you have done it for a while, it is easier as in a real emergency it is your money and you still have it.
Do your shopping late when they are marking stuff down, always ask for a discount you will be surprised how often you get one, it's also fun, be a bit cheeky.
MAKE A LIST OF WHAT YOU NEED FROM THE SHOP AND ONLY BUY THAT, remember supermarkets are laid out to tempt you into buying more and buying dear, so they spread the essentials around so you have to pass everything, also look at the top and bottom shelves they know most people just look at the eye level ones, that's where the dearest one are.
Negotiate with anyone doing anything for you. |

The first rule of financial management is "Pay Yourself First." Put a portion of each paycheck away before you pay bills or spend anything. Aim to save at least 10% of your gross income.
To find your personal cash drains, record every pence spent for a week. Where's the money going? Starbucks? The car's gas tank? What are those charges on the credit card? And how much are you paying in interest and assorted fees? How long is it going to take to pay it in full (if you only pay the minimum, about 30 years, depending on interest rate).
Food is the easiest thing to cut back on fast. Most people spend far more than necessary. Junk food, snacks, sodas, packaged & processed foods cost way more than fixing something from scratch. |

1. I say clip coupons all the time and buy sale items.
I once helped my family turn a $200 grocery bill into a $80 bill for scan and clipping coupons. trust me it is worth it.
2. Put all coins in a jar then cash them in.
3. Buy out off season clothes for cheap at places like plato's closet
4. research sales online
5.research the lowest gas prices in your area ( don't have to anymore) |

Not just one way: several ways:
reduce your out goings,
increase your incoming
save any profit in a savings account or ISA.
There is an excellent site all about this, there are more tips and plans then I can state here, its really saved my life (I was suicidal).

Try cutting back on food costs, buy cheaper range products where possible-lots of them are really nice and not much different to expenses versions. You've just gotta try things out.
Cut out non-essential buys for example, if you buy lots of magazines etc. Make lunch at home to take to work rather than buying out. Go to the pub less etc etc. |

just dont spend, if you reall ywant to save dont go on holiday, dont spend on games, consolles and pointless stuff. Only pay for things that are damages and only pay for the nessecery things, eg food.
that way in a year you would have saved more than you know it.
btw, try to cut your food as well that way your going on a diet and saving money.
just don tbe tempted lol |
