The 'problems' (realities) with that job are -
1 - You will have to go to school and then train at a rate of pay far less than the amount you cite for a long time.
2 - Unless you parents are paying, you will have a lot of school loans. This is part of the program, so don't whine about them later like Michelle Obama.
3 - You may end up having to work in Podunk, Iowa, or in Big Nasty City, East Coast in order to find a job that is available and to move up in pay.
4 - If as your avatar indicates, you are a woman, there is a good chance you will, in your prime earning years, just as you are starting to benefit from your training and education, and paying off those student loans, decide you don't really want to work that hard, you want to go part time, or you want to quit entirely to start a family, or you just don't like medicine (this last one being gender neutral, of course - but with all the cost of getting there, it'll be tough/costly to change your mind at that point).
5 - You run the risk Obama or Hillary will socialize medicine and your salary will drop to $150K max.
6 - Your income will be W-2 wages, subject to the highest tax rates, and you will be vilified by socialist politicians as "the wealthy" - even while you're struggling to make ends meet and buy a decent house in a good neighborhood thanks to all your years of student loans and the credit card debt you racked up during those student and resident years.
That said, of course that is good money - you must be pretty out of touch with reality or very young not to know that. |

Dont be silly. You know that everyone on the internet is a Multi-Billionare.
In otherwords everyone lies about how much money they make. If they say they are making 300,000 a year they probably only make 30,000 a year. |

Good luck with that....considering you just asked what an oncologist is 26 minutes ago..I think you have a really good shot at making $300k a year.

NONE. Like the VAST majority of employees, I am paid by the HOUR. Salary, by definition is an ANNUAL pay rate, not dependent on the number of hours worked.
Alternate answer: MY income is none of your business and irrelevant to your question. $200,000 + is a fairly high income in the US. 50% of all US households have incomes BELOW $45,000. |

None of your business, and I think that will be a fine salary. Good Luck. |

Not trying to sound rude, but you know that this is a large salary for someone... |

Average for that field. Some professions earn more and some less. Remember what with Federal and State taxes plus all other deductions you might bring home 150k to 2 75k
And that is before student loans. |

Probably not a huge demand for that job. Not a lot of them around.
I fix x-ray equipment and am self employed. I make $110.00 an hour. |

Of course that is a lot. What a silly question.
The average salary is probably around $50 to $75K for most professionals. |

An Engineer in Canada can expect to make $50 000 CDN straight out of a B.Eng. program.
Add an MBA to a B.Eng, and the salary survey shows $100 000 CDN. |
