Just say no. Dont make excuses. NEVER loan coworkers money. If they cant get money from the bank, then they are irresponsible with their finances. If they dont take of their own finances, why will they bother to pay you back? |

No, I simply cannot afford to loan money to anyone |

Simply say, "I have a policy against loaning money to friends or family. It's just not good business, and not worth losing a friendship over." |
|

Rose

Tell them you wish you could, but unfortunately you are just not able to loan them the money they are asking for........... no reason is required. |

I would like to but sorry I can't spare it. |

Just say you're uncomfortable with it, or just say no. If they keep asking you, let your boss know because that's creating a hostile work environment. |

Sorry, I'm broke.... |

Don't carry cash and if they are asking about more than $20 just tell them that you don't have it... |

I would like to help but I just don't have the money at the moment. |

"I just don't have it right now." "All of my money this month is accounted for and I can't spare any" |

just say you never lend money as it could be a problem. |

I tell them that I have a deal with the bank. They don't do (construction work) and I don't lend money. |

That is a very good question I do not have an easy way to tell someone except point blank like (I do not have it to spare) plain n simple as that n if they have a problem with that than that is too damn bad u-r- not bank of America,r-u- n- if u- have run into co-workers who do not know how to pay back money than I do not blame u for not wanting to loan it to them. |

I am sorry, I just don't have the much money I can loan. I have some expenses I am facing and I just can;t do it.. Try a bank.
If it is for a few $$,
suggest that you don't have enough money with you - you have to go shopping that night or whatever excuse you need.
You can be more blunt and simply say - I would like to help but I just don't want to be loaning money. If I do you the favor then I have to do the same for anyone else here or someone will accuse me of discrimination. I have to work for my money like every one else here.
Neither a lender nor a borrow be. |

Nice way to say NO: It's not my policy to loan money. End of story. How nice are they for asking you in the first place.
Go to the bank jerk and get a loan there that's why they have banks!
Whether a friend or co-worker: I am sorry but I do not lend money is a life long policy of mine. If they walk away mad then they were not a friend in the first place. Secondly, lending money is a good way to loose a friendship. So either way, they are out having fun on your hard earned money while you're at home without your money. What a friend indeed!
You don't need a person like that anyway and if they were a real friend they would not have asked you in the first place.
End of Story! |

just say no i'm sorry and if they don't get it, walk away. they are the ones asking and they should respect whatever answer you give them. |

I have fallen for that too many times. I know what it feels like. But I don't think that there's an easy way to say no and get on peoople's good side. However, just let them know that you think they are asking too much of you. That you aren't ready to hand out your money, and that you don't have any extra lying around. Money is much too tight these days. |

NO, can't do it or
I would love to loan you the money but I am on a serious budget.
I wish I had more to share but do you know every time I have loaned money to someone, I have regretted it b/c I have not received my reimbursement in a timely manner. I hope you understand.
Let me check and see if I've got extra. I'll get back to you . Most of the time-- they will find some other sucker! |

I am not allowed to loan money. I made a deal with the bank. I was running a hot dog stand and got the bank to agree that it would not sell hot dogs if I did not make loans. |

Just say, "I was just going to ask you the same thing!" They'll walk away fast! |

NO...............plain and simple! Once you start giving a dead beat your money!!!!!!!!!!!!!! You will regret it so don't start! JUST SAY NO-WAY !!!! |

Make it so hard for them to get a loan from you that they won't want to do it. Say that you need a promissory note, and a copy of their license, and some collateral. You can say it in a joking way, but still do it.
Or you could say "I wish I could, but I'm still waiting for ____ to pay me back" (could be another co worker, or a friend, or somebody you made up). |

Only bring enough money to tend to your needs and when they ask, tell them..."I only carry enough money for my lunch" or whatever you usually spend it on. |

If you're in the money lending business, have them fill out the proper paper work and put them through the process, just like a regular customer.
If they just want to borrow a couple bucks and they're good employees or team members, help them out.
If they're constant leeches and just want a free ride tell them "no." Be polite but firm. |

Tell them you are sorry but you have some financial "things" to deal with right now. Then just don't say anything else. If they ask for details - tell them you don't want to talk about it and look unhappy. If they keep after you, just tell them they will have to ask someone else. Remember that your financial status is not their business. I use the same thing on telemarketers - anyone who is asking for money. We plan out donations pretty carefully and we would help a close relative or friend in a pinch - but not just anyone we know - and we would still use a contract. |

Hi!
I would simply say, "I wish I had some to lend you, but I'm low on money, too."
*OR*
"How weird! I'm so broke right now that I was going to ask YOU for a lend!
Once you've said something like this enough, they "should" get the message, IMHO.
Best of luck!
