When money is short, do u think it is a good idea to use a credit card instead of...........?
going into your savings account and wait 'till the next paycheck? (checking account is drained too)

NO WAY!!! It is never good to use credit card when you are short of cash. Besides, you are not short of cash, you have savings. But the best is if you can wait till you pay check....is that possible for you? Not sure when is your next pay check.

Borrowing to meet normal living expenses is never the answer. Instead, analyze your spending and ask yourself why "money is short."

Yes provided you pay the entire balance when you get the bill avoiding interest payment and the common trap of paying off less than you charge each month until you max the card.

Gary
Using credit will cost your more.

credit cards are the devil

If you plan on paying the credit card off within the pay period it is fine. If you are not paying the credit card bill on time, then think of it as making your purchase more expensive. For example, new shoes for $100 will cost you $118 if you are letting your credit company add interest.

When using credit, remember you will be paying extra for the convenience of getting something "right now." This can add up really fast before you know it, and it means one more bill to pay next month that you did not have to have.
Try doing without whatever it is you want to buy. Pay things like rent, electricity, phone, cable and food first. Buy less expensive food to reduce costs- look for specials, use coupons and discount cards and check out discount stores. Do not use credit for anything unless you know for certain you will pay it off before the interest charges are put on the card. If you have trouble paying the important monthly bills, it's better to dip a little into your savings to avoid late fees. Just remember to pay yourself back as soon as you can. It's better to try and get by then spend money you really don't have. It's also better to pay any spare money to your savings then pay it to the credit card companies.
"USE IT UP, WEAR IT OUT, MAKE IT DO, OR DO WITHOUT"
That's a good little rhyme to help you remember to cut costs.

is the spending necessary? I would use the credit card.

ybegtobenu
in short, yes!

dont get into the habit of using credit cards. You will soon be deep in debt. Write down your spendings daily and make a plan to become more cost conscious or to get a new or 2nd job.

poozank
bad idea then u will hav 2 pay the money back plus intrest

Credit Cards are never the answer to life spending money. I have 3 credit cards for emergencies only and that is if I need to fly out of town at a moments notice. If I dont have the cash in my account I dont buy it plain and simple. Cause why use a credit card and pay the interest on that purchase. Cause now something that cost you $200 to buy cost you $235 to buy cause of the interest.

Not a good answer unless your out of food and you dont get paid for a week and you need to eat or your kids need to eat then it is a need.

I would be sssooooo careful with the credit card. I know sometimes it's unavoidable, but I would try to only use it when you know you have the money to pay it off that month--that way it's like a free loan plus you earn fabulous credit rating :) If it were me, and you absolutely NEEDED the money, I would dip into savings temporarily and then be sure to replace it with the next paycheck. Never use a credit card to get out of a jam if you can, usually people just get in deeper and deeper until they can't come out. Good luck :)
