Under the carpet, most theives don't pull up flooring materials, especially if it's under a piece of furniture.
Last time my house was broken into I had about $5,000 in the pages of a book...I could see they'd started to look in books but didn't go through all of them. This is probably not the best place for a 'normal' person to hide cash. I'm a book addict and have hundreds and hundreds of books in my house. |

Can everyone be sure to put down where they live so I know where to go when I want to rob your house. |

How do you know that the person who asked this is isn't a burgular trying to find out where people keep their money. |

I used to hide things in an airvent when I was a teenager. The only time anything got found in there was when I went to rehab and my Parents asked where I kept my weed. =) Kids... Yes! Rehab, for weed... |

EVERY answer you receive to this question is wrong. If anyone on YA has thought of it, whoever you are hiding the money form has also thought of it. The 'best' place to hid cash is NOT in cash.
That said, it is amazing how many people can't find ANYTHING left in plain sight. |

Put it in a plastic bag and hide it under the rocks in your fish tank.
Don't put it in your freezer. That's one of the first places someone who is a pro would look. The same with your underware drawer. Or under your mattress.
Of course, now that I've written this, none of the fish are going to be safe for all the people looking in their tanks for money... :-( |

Save a frozen orange juice can or a box from a frozen veggie. Stash it in the freezer. Don't put it under the mattress. How about the toe of an old smelly sneaker ? |

In a tampon or pad box noone want s to touch those. Unless of course you are hiding money from your wife. But if i have someting i want to hide from my husband it goes in the pad box. He never looks there. |

I have a trumpet case that I cut out one of the side walls, and I can store up to about 20,000 in 100's and 20's
But I like the 'Safe behind a picture' Idea... really works. |

I always liked the little safes that look like something that belongs in a refrigerator or freezer- like a frozen orange juice can or something. Also, in a covered bowl under a kitchen counter, anywhere that a thief wouldn't think to look. This means NOT in a dresser drawer, under a bed or in an interesting looking box. How about in a plastic bag inside an empty box of fertilizer or snail bait? You could roll up some cash and put it in an empty toothpaste box under the bathroom sink....just be creative and don't forget where you put it! (I found $100 bill one time pinned inside a kitchen cabinet when I moved into an old house) |
