Prosper is a great site. It involves being given a credit rating and then you set a maximum rate in accordance with that credit rating such that people are willing to bid on your loan. For instance, if you are a B borrower who needs $25,000 in cash, you might set a 15-18% interest rate in order to attract lenders to lend you $25,000. If demand exceeds supply, they will bid down your loan; however, if supply exceeds demand, you will not obtain total funding on your loan (which may include no funding at all). It's an excellent site.
On Prosper you can decide whether you wish to borrow alone or have the reputation of a group help you potentially get a lower rate. P2P Loan Analytics and No Bull Investors are great groups. Search for 5 star groups. I am not a group leader of any group currently.
