Where is all my money?
I got am email from a Nigerian gentleman two weeks ago, basically telling me that his uncle had died and they needed an offshore account to deposit the money into. I was promised a percentage of the money for doing this.
So I provided him with my Bank account number and sort code, plus my credit card number and verification code to gover his costs.
I have heard nothing back and actually think I am missing money from my account and I tried to use my credid card today and it was declined?

The magic word is scam. As suggested close all accounts. Put the account on fraud alert through Trans Union Fraud Dept. Their toll free # 1-800-680-7289. They'll notify the other 2 bureaus for you at no cost.

Is this a joke, are you stupid?

Where your money has gone is into the pocket of a scam artist...

Cancel your credit card and request any recent transactions you dont remember to be reversed.

HAHA,you are trying to get us fired up. If so you were scammed.

Jeff
If you're joking, it's a bad joke.

If you're not, then you have a MAJOR problem, because all of your money has been stolen.

Goonhilda
Either you're not very smart (and have been living under a rock for the last 5 years and don't know about the 'nigerian letter scam') or you're a troll.

Since your answers and questions are private, and you've only been on Yahoo Answers for a few days, I'm going to guess Troll.

If you're genuine, though, you need to close all your bank accounts and reopen a new account. The scam uses your bank details to take money out of your account. There is no prize or money coming your way. You've been scammed.

Be more careful with your banking details in future, or you could lose everything.

Michael M
That was a scam. Close your account and don't give anyone your account information again.

daniel_200723
So you are telling me you trusted some one you don't even know with your bank info and credit card number? Your a smart one.

This is a classic scam. Cancel all of your financial assets including investments, credit cards, and bank accounts and just get new ones.

Gee I received that same email about 2 weeks ago, but I wasn't dumb enough to send this person anything.
You will NEVER get your money back...and need to close all accounts

I hope this is a joke. If not.... alert your bank now that you have been really silly and someone has got your details.

NEVER ever give anyone you don't know any personal information let alone your banking details!

Nigeria is well known as a source of internet and e-mail scams. E-mails originate from all over the world but western Africa is the hotspot at the moment. Most are obvious as they are badly written and involve some sort of disaster having occurred (like plane crash, death of father, uncle etc in coup, war or or accident).

There are lots of lottery scams too - if it seems too good to be true, it probably is!
