Lucky you! I wouldn't be saving anything if I were you.
But if you're in the UK NS&I (National Savings and Investments) will probably give you a good deal. They offer tax free savings and a tier system where the more you save the more you earn. |

There is a fantastic website called www.moneysupermaket.co.uk and another http://www.interest-rates.org.uk/order5.php. If you have that much money to invest you may want to consider using your ISA allowance first (up to £7,000 in stocks and shares, £3,000 in cash) as this grows in a tax-efficient manner. If you have already used that then you should look at a high interest savings account.
There are a number of different types ranging from instant access to fixed term deals.
