Iraqi national bank

Bank of America

While Bank of America has lots of services, we found they were deceptive in the CD rates they offered and were willing to pay more if you asked. Even then, other banks offered higher interest rates.

missree
hsbc their call centre staff are rubbish and don't understand English

Washington Mutual and Bank of America both SUCK!!!!

Cat Loves Her Sabres
Bank of America erroneously charged a fee to my account then refused to reimburse me, their debit card is useless in Canada, and the bank representatives lied and told me there was a Bank of America close to the campus where I attend college when in actuality the only Bank of America nearby is in the next town over from my college, just so I wouldn't switch and then couldn't do anything about it once I got to school and had no transportation besides the city bus. I hate them and I would not recommend their poor service and inconvenient locations to anyone.

Mom madness
B of A I had a bad experience with them plus they charge you for walking in their doors

I would only say the Halifax cause they take 7 days to clear a cheque.

Chase Bank, formally Bank One.

Big Jimi
Bank One !!

Cari
HSBC - they have the highest charges and pay the lowest interest, and all of their call centre staff are rubbish but then again so are most of their branch staff.

Barclays - because they took a direct debit for a mortgage payment twice. We noticed when their statement came and had a hell of a job to get the money reimbursed. The guy at the bank was most unhelpful - even though the 2nd payment took us overdrawn and we were trying to sort it.

kevin m
I wouldnt recommend any of them after all they take your money and you get nothing from them. But if you needed an account just for a debit card and maybe a few checks here and there Commerce Bank is good...Also if you travel a lot get a larger bank this way your banks ATM machine would be easiest to find.I find that if a bank has its name on an arena or stadium they are the ones that you probably wont have trouble finding their ATM

Bank of America. They have way too many hidden fees. Also my sister had her card number stolen and used. The bank refunded her money and then took it out of her account without notifying her because they said that she had made on-line purchases in the past and could not prove that she did not do it again.
I used to bank with them and quit, as well as my sister and boyfriend. We all LEFT!

lloyds, too many charges

Dig very deep before you bank anywhere.

The reason I say this is because we found out our "free" checking was costing us a fee of something like $12 a quarter. I called and asked why the fee if it was really the "free" account they always advertise to get people to use them. The clerk said "That's for your monthly statement -- paper and clerical charges." I said "Well then, it isn't free." She got very adamant and agitated and insisted -- as I am sure her boss told her to -- that "...No sir, it's FREE. It IS free. Don't you be saying it isn't free, now." LOL

Anyway, just ask a lot of questions before you give them you money, then watch them like a hawk. Banks are thieves.

Tell us what country you're in and you might get a helpful answer.

However, from personal experience

In Australia: National Australia Bank
In UK: Yorkshire Bank, Clydesdale Bank, Halifax Bank
In Canada: Bank of Commerce, Bank of Montreal

In the US there are no nationwide banks as such, so you'd need to specify your area as well as your country.
